Why are there no more attractions theme songs!

This is something that has bothered me for awhile and never knew why it happened so mayb someone can answer it! Why did they get rid of all the great songs for rides? I understand some rides closed down, but they even got rid of the ones that are still open like living with the land and spaceship earth for example! Why did they do this, it couldn't really be a money thing I have to assume they bought complete rights to the songs, so what could it be!

They tried....Mission Space -Destiny was an attempt to make a song for the attraction....But, failed miserably. Many CM's call it "The Banshee Song" due to how loud and annoying it is. It does play still but, it's now either turned off or the volume is lowered and drowned out by guests exiting the attraction...So for your ears...Here's the pop idolish song for the attraction that was to "origionally" be themed for the failed Mission To Mars film....

I do miss attraction themes, although some can stay away like "If you had wings"... I actually find that song more annoying than "It's a small world".

Don't hate me.

Music at every attraction at old Epcot was another reason why the original Epcot Center was so unique and special. Even before you entered the park back in the 80's and 90's. The entrance music even had guests hearing medleys for it's attractions as a sneak preview before they entered the park.

Similarly was at the end of Spaceship Earth 86 where guests got a glimpse of what's to come at Future World complete with video screens.
(Skip to 55:24 of Martin's Spaceship Earth preview.

Journey Into Imagination (Even in it's bad state) along with American Adventure and O Canada are the only attractions left at Epcot that still uses it's own theme song.

You forgot O'Canada's song after the 2007 refurb...

They all still have theme songs...not sure why you believe they don't. The music for Soaring is still there and stands in for the Land, Energy sounds a bit sitcom (fitting the Ellen sitcom vibe...even if its a bit lame and old), Test Track 2.0 has its futuristic elevator music that sounds like the background for a car show, SE has a more inspirational score as well...

The new medley at the entrance has all these. There aren't many vocal tracks anymore, but there are definitely theme songs and dedicated scores.

Soarin doesn't count since it was originally from DCA. While Test Track 2.0,and Energy with Ellen do have their own theme songs. They aren't as memorable or had the same charm the original Epcot attractions of the 80's had.

I am old enough to remember all those songs, but I also get the feeling that many of us get so locked into the rose colored glasses that we miss what we do have in order to carry the torch of classic Epcot...I really doubt you get away with Tomorrows Child, If you can Dream It or Listen to the Land anymore. They are products of their time and just reek of 1970s to the point a modernization would basically destroy the songs.

Ones like Golden Dream, O Canada and One Little Spark are all very time neutral. Spark is basically a waltz with some large backing audio. Its a great song, but it doesn't exactly evoke any period of time. It just exists as something that sounds simple and out of a kids show. Its written to be timeless. O Canada and Dream were both aspirational songs meant to evoke culture and classic music. These also exist outside of any time period.

I am fine leaving those songs behind...I love them, but I doubt it would be possible to update them without running into the same problem again. We will always have them in MP3 to remind us of the old days.

I do miss a lot of the songs from way back. Tomorrow's Child and Magic Journeys being at the top of my list. I had a friend make this shirt for my son before our last trip.

You could also say The Seas "Big Blue World" While it's from the AK Musical it does tie in with the finale of the attraction...
