If the cast is getting hours next week that probably means training and rehearsals, again, following the show changes.

It will start next weekend, because we leave next Friday morning

The last soft opening rumor went so well hardly any guests in the park, dimmed amphitheater lights and not a single thing going on.

When it opens, it will be announced. But they will announce CLOSE. Needless to say, if they announced on a Friday that it would premiere Sunday night, they'd have no worry over filling all 5000 seats.

Well tomorrow is Groundhog Day after all. Maybe they will float a float out there on the river, and we can watch to see if it sees it shadow. Will be have six more weeks of waiting? Or is there a light at the end of this tunnel?

That was the initial plan (as of Oct), but at this point, it will be a case of (like @MansionButler84 said) announcement a matter of days before open, and that is when FP's will open. I want to say the same happened for 7DMT.

I was at DAK today, a lot of tech people in boats on the water. I was walking on the bridge betwen DinoLand and Asia, near Everest. A tech boat went under the bridge, guests were waving and asking what they were doing and the tech people shouted "Getting ready for the new show". So take that as you will.

Usually a new attraction begins in earnest and then FPs begin a few weeks later. But, they can surprise us.

This show needs FP so it's not a complete crowd control disaster. I do wonder how quickly they can reasonably get dining packages on line and booked, however.

Exactly. To expand a bit, the Asia side could not function withoit a reservation system. This is because of the lack of holding areas, that can even plague FP Crowds. In very, very early planning, they wanted just the innermost portions of Asia and Dinoland to be FP, but that fell through very quickly. Even for the moderately recieved JB show, the half of the oath dedicated to Fp was jammed. No FP = No RoL. Also, they could silently open FPs day of, and they would fill. That is what they did with JB's "Soft Opening" day.

The significant phase could be the rostering of staff... that is a clear sign that their an intention to open very soon.
