I have to admit, i am beyond excited for this. But, i am also sad that my this will likely make waits horrible (well much worse). I hope people appreciate the new additions, animal kingdom really is special park. And while the magic has left parts of the rresort, animal kingdom manages to give me chills. And the cms are all amazing.

Just checked on both the 27th and 28th to book FP+ for the Nighttime Safari but no times are listed past 5 or 6. Any idea when we might see an update? Thanks in advance! My wife and I are excited to experience it as we adore Animal Kingdom. Unfortunately, the bulk of the other newer stuff (Soarin' Around the World, Star Wars fireworks, etc.) we'll be missing by nearly a week.

Hours to 11:00 every night and then ending on July 2nd has the feel that they are just testing the waters to see what guests will do. Even with new night options, it is tough to believe that AK can be open later than MK and the other parks nearly every night.
Even if people still treat DAK as a half-day park, they now have the option of taking the half day in the evening. Instead of people hopping from DAK, people can now hop to DAK. I think this is more about creating a pressure release valve for the other parks than it is about DAK specifically.

I'm personally very disappointed that they'll only be open until 6:00 on my upcoming May 6 - 15 trip. Even without the new offerings, DAK is my favorite park and it would have been nice to just be there at nighttime.

I agree. AK is a great park to visit at night. That is one of the main reasons we would travel in early December because it gets dark early and we could hang in AK at night.

I'm sure by the time fall & winter roll around and the evenings come early will probably see an Epcot-like time where it will close around 9pm..
I agree.

And that would totally defeat one of Disney's reasons for moving Wine and Dine Half to the morning. The press release stated one of the reasons was because AK would be offering more night time opportunities, but I do not forsee AK staying open past 10pm during November. I understand that you need to allot for road closures--but AK could still host runners late night.

I just would prefer the whole story--W&D moved to the morning so more runners have the opportunity to purchase more food and drink during the entire 4 hour exclusive party. (Instead of only early finishers getting max time, and most runners only an hour or two to spend.)

I have admit that DAK open until 11 pm has me considering a trip. That park is wonderful at night, and I'm sure the new stuff (even the temporary RoL replacement) will make it more than worthwhile to stay late several nights.

Evenings this summer at WDW are certainly looking pretty intriguing.

I wonder what the streetmosphere will be like in Harambe and Anandapur? Will the musicians and storytellers still make appearances? Maybe even special tweaks to the shows? I'm also curious about Maharajah Jungle Trek, lighting by the apes, Rafiki's Planet Watch, etc.
