Hi all, Its my first time for disney travelling from UK, and was looking at a royal room versus a prefered room at Riverside. I am travelling with my 2 daughters aged 10 & 9. Has anybody stayed in the royal rooms? is it worth the extra and are they much further away from the main facilities. Thanks in advance.

We have stayed in a Royal room several times and love it! The two buildings with the Royal rooms are right across the bridge from the main facilities so it is a quick walk to the food court and Ol' Man Island. The location also gives you a choice of two bus stops to choose from.

Highly recommend ~ your daughters will love the room!

Stayed in one for my honeymoon! (My husband decided on it because he says I'm his princess ) We loved it!! Every part of the room is themed so well! You even get a letter from Tiana upon check in :) I was in heaven and felt like a princess!

Thanks guys for your responses, is there any preference out of the two buildings (Oak manor or Parterre place).

Just a quick question.
Who are you booking the resort through ?

I stayed in a Royal Guest room for 9 days back in November and honestly loved it. The theming was pretty cool, location is very nice. It's located near two bus stops, very close to the lobby/food court etc. Oak Manor is my preference in buildings

Cool. It was just checking because i think it's the only way you can get royal rooms.
Not at all true. Royal rooms are a bookable category and can be booked by your favorite travel agent etc. If they are available for your time frame is a different question as there are a limited number of them. Marie

Not if you are booking through certain companies from the UK. They are not available .

Ah gotcha!!! I have no problem getting them for my clients, assuming availability of course. We do work with clients from all over the world but we are US based, so that might make a difference. Marie

I love love love the royal rooms! I've stayed in them twice and they're so magical. I'm 22 years old and it makes me feel like such a princess when I stay there. I wish they would've existed when I was younger, because I know I would've loved them even more back then. I definitely think it's worth the money. :)

Taking a chance on the Royal Rooms on my next trip (a month away)... Can't wait to see them in person - and I think my (16 month old) daughter will love it, even if she doesn't quite "get it!" I love POR already, having stayed there last time. Such a beautiful, sprawling property. Bonus for being so close to the main buildings and bus stops too.
