Hello all.

Sorry for the lack of posts. Today, we had a bunch of people come in. Some of our friends moved to Jacksonville, so they are here and staying here (actually, across the hall from us amazingly enough). One of my best friend's parents are down here abd arrived today. Then, we got a call from two of our friends who live an hour away saying they were coming. So in total, there were twelve of us, although we broke off periodically. So it was a bit crazy today.

Spent the day at Epcot. Going to DHS yesterday was wise; we weren't quite sure what to do with ourselves at some points. Other than count heads.

Tomorrow, DHS (again) with just six of us. Thank goodness.

New animatronics at Gran Fiesta Tour:

if I remember correctly, these were the original animatronics of Epcot.. but where shipped to one of the Japan or Hong kong Disneylands for a decade or so.... technically they are not "new".

OH MY!!!
All this meatloaf talk...!!!!! :hungry: :hungry: :hungry:
13_11_03_meatloaf.jpg

Disney has changed up their recipe at PrimeTime from their meatloaf and while still yummy the meat isn't as course, a bit too processed now and they don't have the glaze anymore, so I make it the way it was originally done with course ground meat and ketchup glaze. Now they squirt just ketchup on top.

Try this:
Glaze Sauce Ingredients:

1/2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
finely chopped sauted onion and tiny diced tomato

That is what I thought too. But I was watching a 'news' stream of a dude that usually gets it right the day it opened and he said no. I thought I remembered them.

Do you plug your cars in at night over there? In Wyoming, you have to at night or the car will never start. But I understand that in most places, cars don't even have tank heaters. A friend of mine in college was from Arizona and he started taking pictures of the front of several cars and I asked him what in heaven's name he was doing and he said his friends didn't believe cars had plugs on the front to plug the car in at night, so he was sending pictures as proof. But Illinois gets pretty cold, too, so I thought maybe you actually do have them?

We have never had plugs, some cars with diesel engines do. Our cars almost always start. Mine is always is in the garage as was my DD. Now this is the first winter that car is left out. It is an older Cavalier she got while she was still in high school, it belong to the man across the street and he only drove it in our tiny town. We got it for her when she was a senior in high school and is a 1999. No rust, no dents, when we bought it it had 20,000 miles and it almost has 40,000 on it now. Best $2500 we have ever spent on a new to us used car. No issues with it. But with her living in an apartment now it is out in a parking lot vs garage.

When it would not start I texted the Dad and asked him to jump it with our battery charger after work. Instead he got there and just pulled the battery and went to Sam's and replaced it. It has been fine now with our zero weather. She said it is taking a bit longer to warm, though, gotta get those fluids moving.

Yeah, I worry about the Frozen ride, since that's the one I really do want to see what they've done. Right now it's scheduled for April, so that gives me several months leeway if they extend it, but still, you never know, do you?

Hope that works out for you. They should know you are traveling a long ways and should work overnight on it to make sure it launches by the time you get there. :D

well Epcot was supposed to be for everyone.. not little kids only. but I get your point.
Still, supposed to be a technical marvel for their time.

Yeah, we as parents have different ideas what and who/what is appropriate for our kids. I know what you are saying, with me it was not a individual I wanted my kids exposed to, just too creepity for my liking. I drew my line in the sand with all things Michael Jackson long ago. I'd do the same with the equivalent of Justin Beiber in this era if I had young children and I don't find him as creepity as I did MJ. I find JB just icky for young children now. I'd be surprised if Disney invited JB back to the Magic Kingdom but who knows. But I do the same for me, I genuinely loved Kenny Rogers music but after his antics he was a goner in my life as is Bill Cosby now. Too many others out there that have talent that have a human life style that doesn't make me cringe. It is a to each their own who we as parents introduce into our kids lives. We all roll differently.

fixed for you!

Yeah, I don't accept the Fix. It is weather IMO. It was like this in the 60's when I was small. We had another strange snow cold thing in 78-79, in 82 we had a hot Christmas and in 83 we had one of the coldest Christmas' ever on record. In 95 during the summer we had one of the hottest summers where 750 people died in the City, followed by several years of coolish summers. To me it is weather. Some years we have hurricanes galore others not so much, same goes with our tornadoes in the midwest.

Me, IMO I think we as a society just over analyze the heck out of weather. The internet just gives us so much data, the thing about data and statistics it can be manipulated to give you any results you want. A decade ago it was Global Warming. It ain't too warm here now. Now the buzz is Climate Change. Give it a decade and it will be something else.

I cook for 4 everyday and can't cook for less than 15:hilarious:

My Mom can't seem to cook for 2 either. Me I've gotten better at most dishes I cook. When both my kids were in college that was a difficult transition.

Tonight I made garlic pepper breaded pork chops. I cooked 8 cause they make amazing sandwiches left over. Didn't need a knife, they came out so tender you can cut with a fork. :hungry:

Good morning I survived the great ADR summit of 2016. Seeing I found hours I thought let's try and get a final plan together. It was so funny 2 computers and a tablet for checking out menus and reviews. At least i was wearing Mickey jammies. I think we're all somewhat happy given the first rule was no more than one repeat from our last 2 trips and the second rule was at least 2 people wanted to eat there. I tried to make it as fair as I could. Here's the list I hope we didn't screw up too much LOL Mamma
1 Melrose Fantasmic package(cancel package portion of they add a second show)
2 BOG lunch
3 LTT lunch
4 Skipper's lunch or dinner
5 Kona Cafe lunch may do without the boys
6 Yak and Yeti
7 Whispering Canyon lunch
8 Tiffins ROL show if they're doing it by the time we get there
9 La Hacienda
10 9 Dragons
11 our last park day Garden Grill
12 Sanaa early dinner DTD day after we're done with the Disney parks
Somewhere we'll squeeze in T Rex and maybe Morrimotos I'm thinking T Rex on check in night and Morrimoto's on the other DTD day

I love almost all your picks. Good choices.

Question though-though you'll likely have a well calculated answer. Why LTT lunch???? If those boys have the love of all things food, why not the family style dinner were they can eat until they can eat not more???

It says it's supposed to reopen in the summer, but it doesn't give a date. I'm guessing it will be open by the time we go there at the end of July. I've never been on it and I'm afraid of heights, but I kind of want to see it anyway...so I'm wondering, I know you are in a seat kind of like a chairlift, right? How high up are you actually and are you strapped in pretty well? Does it feel sturdy?

I have a quirky thing with heights. I'd rather climb the stairs than do the chairlift at Blizzard Beach. Taking pictures over the rails of the ferry boats makes me feel like I'm going to fall in the water. I understand what you are going through. Soarin never ever did this for me. It is more like you are buckled in a seat of a car. The lift is so gradual and you are only feet from the ground. You can ask to wait and sit in the front row, with a quick, I'm afraid of heights. While you feel on soarin that you are in the scene I've always known I'm not really way up in the air just lifted enough to give you an airborne feel vs being high up in the air. So was never an issue with my fear of heights mainly cause there is obviously no height involved and you know that.
