What is called Mexican Hot Chocolate up here is actually a good drink

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 vanilla bean, split
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 teaspoon chile powder
I've seen the chile sub'd for cayenne pepper too.

Me, I am a bigger fan for Ghirardelli's Hot Drinking Chocolate. (also available online)
I love Ghirardelli's anything. Right now, I munching on the Mini Dark Chocolate.:hungry::hungry:

Same story with a squirrel when I was little. I fed him peanuts. Started out nice and all and ended badly when one time he followed me when I was done feeding him onto the back porch and into the house without me noticing. That was the end of me feeding the squirrel.
I fed a squirrel for a couple years, until the mice found the nuts he buried around the yard. When my neighbor caught a huge rat in his trap, I quit feeding "MR. Squirrel". Ha!

It's a stem less wine glass. Just put a margarita, in that for me. Of course, I won't be able to see anything after that!

How has it been hard to find an iron? are you looking for a specialty one? That's also an item I have more than one of 2 regular ones (one really good one nobody but me is allowed to touch and a nice cheap one for the men to use and I fuse with it) and a couple of little craft ones. I'm sure I'll be able to help you find a good deal.
I threw my iron away when hubby retired!:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:

Oh it was so very good!

We had a pound of crawfish with jalapeño cornbread to start. Then I had the seared tuna served with artichokes, rice and grape leaves. He had the guinea fowl with potato pancake. For dessert, I had a lemon shortbread with blueberry purée and he had the pot de creme. Washed it all down with a nice Malbec and then some of the best coffee with the dessert.

Had lots of time to talk to the server and the chef, who are the co-owners. I guess they change their menu 10 times a year not every 10 days. We will be back when it changes again! There was so much else I would have tried like the gator gumbo.

The bad part was it stormed while we were eating. We were watching from our window view by the fireplace! We couldn't get the car up the hill to get back to our neighbourhood. Had to go back downtown and park at a friends for the night and wait for a cab. The cab got us home but just made it up the hill.
So glad you had a nice time. Sorry about the trip home.

Odd how that intuition kicks in isn't it? I thought of you twice this week, #1 with the board meeting last night and #2 I made it to Woodfield over the weekend and to my delight a Garretts Popcorn opened. Not sure if you are a fan or not but when I head home from DT-Chgo I never leave without a Chicago Mix. So happy happy me. :hungry:

I just saw the pic on FB. Guess I need to wander over to Woodfield soon.
And, on thought #1, it seems everything has been settled with the locker room. Phew!

Besides the bad weather, it sounds like a fabulous evening!
