What is called Mexican Hot Chocolate up here is actually a good drink
I've seen the chile sub'd for cayenne pepper too.
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 cup whole milk
- 3 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 vanilla bean, split
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 teaspoon chile powder
Me, I am a bigger fan for Ghirardelli's Hot Drinking Chocolate. (also available online)
I have never made it quite this way but it sounds like a great recipe! I would love to try it. I think the vanilla bean and nutmeg would be quite nice.
