I don't recall, but that sure sounds familiar. I've seen various White House holiday programs--the ones that go inside and show you how they decorate the White House. The decorations are spectacular, not to mention the trees throughout, particularly the big, main tree. You may be right--the gingerbread house process might have been in one of those holiday specials. I've been enjoying those type of shows for a number of years, so that's why I can't exactly place which show it was on. Reminds me of the (older) Home and Garden channel, before it turned into carp tv. I use to love the early years of H&G--they had plenty of those types of shows around the holidays.
I loved the Travel Channel and Home and Garden, they are now just a waste of time. I've never understood, the reality TV thing, except it's cheap to make a show.

I never had a rice cooker. Why do you like it? When I've made rice (if I'm not nuking one of those little pre-cooked cups!), I just add the water to the pan and then the rice, and it cooks on the stovetop. What does a rice cooker do that's different? Is it faster or something?
I like my rice cooker too. Mine will automatically stop cooking when the rice is done and click itself over to a warming level so if my stirfry isn't done yet I won't have cold rice.

So it sort of sounds like a way to cook it without watching it. A few times, I've sort of burned the bottom of the pan of rice, when I wasn't really timing it closely. That's why I was ecstatic when they came out with those pre-cooked litlle nuke cups, and they microwave for 1 minute, and it's perfect! :hilarious:
I use those too. I'm glad that they have different kinds, too. It's getting more difficult for me to get everything timed just right. So these make life much easier.:D

Aha! So it's basically the same thing--puree or canned. I'll stick with the can then. That article was interesting about some canners also using squash with the pumpkin. Libby has a good reputation though, and I believe they only use pumpkin. Side note: I also like squash pie, so in the end, it doesn't matter what's in the can! :hungry:
My Mom always used Libby to make pumpkin pie, and it was delicious!

The woman was old. Mid sixties. I think some people need to retake the test. I wonder how many of them would actually pass.

Oh, and MD took parallel parking off their driving test. Which just allows more bad drivers on the road IMO.
Hey, who you calling old?;););) I agree, although many people are texting, doing makeup and other things while "driving". I was almost side swiped when I drove, and the person was on their phone. Now, that I can't hear, and vision is not good..hubby does all the driving. I get my license for I.D. only. I knew when it was time for me to stop. I wish other people, would recognize that we can get to the point, where it's not safe to drive.

First good piece of news for today:

Y'all know how much my online management class has been stressing me out. Last week, week 1, I got a C on one assignment, a D on one, and then two Bs on the other assignment, which brought my grade total to a high C.

This week, I just got the grades back on the assignment. Four assignments, all perfect scores, and my grade is now an 89. I think I improved. It is a relief. Given all the work that I put into this class, those grades were deserved.
Good for you, hard work almost always pays off. You should be proud.

If you buy canned pumpkin there is plain and some with the pie spices already included so you just need to pay attention to which you need. :)

It's really cute, easy and cheap to make. It uses a button down shirt for the top, 2yds of fabric for the bottom, ribbon for the belt and has an embroidered Minnie coming out of the shirt pocket. The perfect dress for Disney bounding, I'd wear it any where LOL BTW looks like it would take under 2 hours to put together including embroidery time.
That sounds great! You should definitely buy it soon. I want to see a picture, when you finish this product!;)

Since we have been talking about appliances. The dishwasher cleaned it's last dish. Hubby is doing replacement research, as we speak. I hate having to replace appliances...seems like such a waste of money. I guess I could go back to hand washing. But, then I would have a big hole in the cabinet.;):rolleyes:
Sympathy like Kitchen Aids get good reviews for the most part and I like my Bosch. For the most part appliance shopping isn't much fun but looking for a new sewing machine isn't bad in fact so far it's been fun. The hard part will be parting with money
