I don't think parallel parking has anything to do with being a good driver. I have never been able to parallel park and I am a good driver. I have never had the need to parallel park either.
Amen, sister.
I too, cannot park worth a darn, but am an excellent driver.
Also, @StarWarsGirl95 - mid-60's is not "old". That's almost as insulting as saying anyone under the age of 21 is a "child". ;)

Yeah, my DD will be 24 at the end of the month. She still looks like she is a very young teen let alone a working adult that graduated college almost 2 years ago. Love when she buys a lotto ticket or orders a drink. Nobody wants to believe it is her when they look at the ID. We had her at Red Robin and she ordered a drink on her 21st BDay and the waiter thought she was cracking a joke. He was stunned. Too funny.
I'm finally starting to lose my baby face thankfully. I was out with some of my friends last week, and they brought someone I hadn't met, and that person asked if I had kids. Um, no. Although with my brother, it sometimes feels like it.

I was out with my friend one day in September, and we went to the mall, and someone asked us abut our ages. She's 25 but doesn't look it, so when we're together, people assume we're the same age. The person asked my age and said, "Oh, that's about what I thought." When the person found out she was 25, she was shocked. Then she asked if we were sisters. Nope, just friends. The person was probably wondering how that happened. It's pretty simple actually; we're both shamefully silly. And at times, both scatterbrained. Although the funniest part is that she's moved out from her mother's home and lives on her own and pays bills, yet I am often the voice of reason. Like, "You really shouldn't eat that pint of ice cream". "Mall salespeople are pushy. When you've told them no, walk away." "I know you feel bad for that poor person, but you shouldn't give them more than a few dollars when you don't know what they might use it for."

I had a theory when I was little that anyone over age 50 was old.:joyfull: That, and my dad complains he's old, and he's 55.

FYI, you should be proud of me. Last time, you told me to take a picture of the person's information. Exactly what I did today.

See ... cell phone cameras are good for more than just selfies, or in my case, food pics. :p

Or pictures of cats. :cat:

On my iPod, there's 50 selfies, the first of which was taken in 2012. Obviously, I'm not a fan of the selfie, although back in middle school, I used my point and shoot to take selfies before selfie was a word. But that was middle school, when every person loses their mind for three years and some actually get it back eventually. :p

You sound like I was earlier in the week. Needed a new rice cooker...my fav appliance next to the slow cooker. Tried to talk myself into a cheapie. Went with the Hamilton Beach...Cadillac of rice cookers...with all the bell so and whistles. I'm like a kid at Xmas waiting for it to arrive.
I love my rice cookers (yes I have 2) and my slow cookers (again yes 2) I don't think I could function without them, those and my 12 quart stock pots. When things get busy or I'm feeling a bit lazy I make "dump" dinners. Just dump everything in the crock pot turn on and go. :hungry::joyfull:

I don't recall, but that sure sounds familiar. I've seen various White House holiday programs--the ones that go inside and show you how they decorate the White House. The decorations are spectacular, not to mention the trees throughout, particularly the big, main tree. You may be right--the gingerbread house process might have been in one of those holiday specials. I've been enjoying those type of shows for a number of years, so that's why I can't exactly place which show it was on. Reminds me of the (older) Home and Garden channel, before it turned into carp tv. I use to love the early years of H&G--they had plenty of those types of shows around the holidays.
I loved HGTV and DIY before it went to carp. The Christmas craft shows were my favorites

I never had a rice cooker. Why do you like it? When I've made rice (if I'm not nuking one of those little pre-cooked cups!), I just add the water to the pan and then the rice, and it cooks on the stovetop. What does a rice cooker do that's different? Is it faster or something?
I find it easy to use and it's a pot I don't have to watch. They can also be used for making oatmeal or mac and cheese, quinoa any grain. Mine's handy, one less burner being used on the stove is also a nice plus.

O.k. So here's my pumpkin question for either @MOXOMUMD or @figmentfan423. Is there any difference between Libby's canned pumpkin, and something called "pumpkin puree"? Is pumpkin puree advanced--I mean, do you have to get a real pumpkin and cut it up and throw in a blender to puree it? (That sounds like a lot of work. o_O )

So the reason I'm asking is because I have maybe 2 cups more of the whole wheat flour in the bag, left over after I made the cranberry breakfast loaf last weekend. I looked up pumpkin bread recipes, and one said you can use Libby pumpkin from the can, and the other recipe said to use pumpkin puree. Can either one of you explain this mystery to me? If puree is different from canned, then I won't use that recipe; I'll just use the canned recipe.
Probably check the ingredients. Canned pumpkin with nothing else added is the same as pureed pumpkin. Pumpkin pie filling has lots of other items in it and those can vary between brands.

First good piece of news for today:

Y'all know how much my online management class has been stressing me out. Last week, week 1, I got a C on one assignment, a D on one, and then two Bs on the other assignment, which brought my grade total to a high C.

This week, I just got the grades back on the assignment. Four assignments, all perfect scores, and my grade is now an 89. I think I improved. It is a relief. Given all the work that I put into this class, those grades were deserved.
Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! finally some good news! Enjoy, you deserve it.

Did you say Twelve-quart stock pots???? Yikes. You must be cooking for the entire neighborhood!! I have a 1-quart pan. :)
