Oh by the way, do you like wild rice, too? It's pretty intense, but I really like it. Rarely have it due to the expense, but sometimes for a special meal, I'll cook it.

I do like wild rice. I like its nutty flavor. My mom always made an Uncle Ben's brand of wild rice (original flavor) for Thanksgiving and it is great. I sometimes cook up a big bag of it and then freeze it in portions so I can add it to soups, stuffing and other stuff. Although wild rice isn't really rice, it is considered to be something else but I can't remember what right now and too lazy to look it up. Ok, I just asked suri and it is a grass seed.

Good grief. Sorry to hear you've been involved in another mishap. I hope you can do something nice for yourself tonight, like watch a movie (Frozen? ;) ), and eat all kinds of treats to make you feel happier. This will all pass in time.

You might get a kick out of a woman I know who was in a minor accident last week. Basically, an SUV cut her off and ended up denting the front driver's side of her car. So my friend honks the horn for the woman to pull over. The woman did, but was all indignant denying she hit her car and said she didn't even feel any impact . .. but wait . . . it gets better. :cautious: The woman told her that she had just bought this SUV 2 days prior, and it had all the latest bells and whistles on it, including a system that would let her know if she was too close to another car. She said the system warning signal never went off, so of course, she could not have possibly hit another car!!!   Can you stand it???!!!!!!!! :banghead: Anyway, my friend called the cops and filed an accident report. The insurance companies will now deal with it.

As if there weren't enough bad drivers out there to begin with, now we have fools who think they don't have to look out the windows of their cars when switching lanes??!! :jawdrop:
My dad's car has the lane switching thingy. I'm sure it's nice, but looking over your shoulder and at your mirrors (as he does) is a good thing.

The whole thing today just irks me. My dad looked up the other woman's information and goes, "Oh, well, she's lawyer-happy." My dad has always made it clear to me that just because he is a lawyer does not mean we sue people all of the time. Don't sue unless you can prove damages, he has always said. So he completely believes me when I say I think she caused it. Which is good, because if he thought that this was my fault...oh boy.

Okay, now I feel better.

And now here's something funny for @figmentfan423 for being such a good sport:

The woman was old. Mid sixties. I think some people need to retake the test. I wonder how many of them would actually pass.

Oh, and MD took parallel parking off their driving test. Which just allows more bad drivers on the road IMO.

I don't think parallel parking has anything to do with being a good driver. I have never been able to parallel park and I am a good driver. I have never had the need to parallel park either.

I use to be a master at parallel parking. Had to driving into Chicago. The first time in 20 years that I had to parallel park was in front of my DD dorm that was loaded with stuff and I was driving a rented mini van. In the spring I rented a minivan that had the back up camera.
Not fun.

And for all of you that have kids that have yet to go off to college-those minivans that the seats completely get swallowed up into the floor...amazing for college move ins. Hold so much more floor to ceiling than my SUV does and the hatch floor is lower to the ground for easier loading and unloading.

I'm in deep, deep trouble! I called the store where I got my last sewing machine from and now I'm thinking about going one model up from the one I was thinking about:hilarious: It has even better reviews and it has a bunch of Disney embroidery designs built in. It's still $200 less than I spent on my last machine. Is there any chance any of you will try and talk me out of it? LOL

Ahh Another seamstress. There are few of still around. I have a sewing machine that is 40+ years old, it was my Moms. It is on its last thread for years and years but she manages to get through the projects. I thought she was a goner when I was sewing my DD drapes for her apartment.
