I may have ripped into a bag of Cheetos I bought for the trick or treaters.

Only 10 so far, it is pouring. One with a clear Micky Poncho.

It is suppose to stop raining when our trick or treat hours come to an end. :cautious:
I wish we had posted hours, it's anywhere from four until 10. Our city doesn't post hours anymore, so we don't know what to expect. I'm going to call the city tomorrow, and ask that they post hours on their web sight. Hopefully that will help everyone, parents, and those who give out candy. Hubby and I have put out extra candy at 8:30, into a big bowl and let those who are out late have what they want. We never have left over candy that way. Good for us type 2 diabetics, in the past. We have changed our diet and have stable blood sugar. ;)

Awe that is too bad since you love doggies so much.
I appreciate every one's concern, including yours...we live and have to move on. I'm understanding that more and more. But, I'm going to walk down the street and ask if the paid shelter would like to have someone to take out their animals, and play with them. Kitty's that stay in, I would love to cuddle! It's worth a try, I will understand, if they reject this idea, as they have insurance concerns. People are willing to sue over the littlest thing. They do have a fenced in area, but if one should escape while I was playing with them could cause trouble. I liked the days when people were not looking for a way to cause a lawsuit. I'll let everyone know how it works out. They are only a half mile away.

May be a blessing in disguise. It's a clear day outside here today, and we're thinking that maybe even more kids than usual will come by and because it's a weekend night, they may be out later.
Ours too. No hours were posted this year, and it's warm. We are armed 100 bags of chips, and 1,200 suckers! We have had a bunch, in years past when it's this nice. The suckers are miniature tootsie rolls, and small bags of chips from Costco. We should be good!

That's really early. Kids don't ever come around here until it's dark, well after 5:30 anyway. I'd prefer they came earlier, but whatever.

Hubby, the dog, and I have a system. I buy the candy for the treaters. Hubby gives it out to the kids, and I hang out upstairs and play on the computer or watch tv. Hubby leaves outer glass door open, so the kids can see that we're home, and giving out candy. Dog sits in his favorite "lookout" spot, in the middle of our inside stairs (leading down to our first floor) and barks when the kids come near the front door. Hubby hears dog bark, and gets up from the sofa in the livingroom and gives out the candy. :) (We shut off our porch light at 8:00, and that's it.)
I love your system, I put together treat bags and hubby is going to give them out. I just can't get up and down out of my chair that much anymore. I sit in my glider and watch the fun!

I don't get how towns and cities have treat or treat times or certain days if it's raining or wicked cold? Like how do people follow it? Do they announce it in the newspaper or what?

The little ones usually start after dark. Which 6ish maybe. But not this year...HAHAHA our light is off. No candy for them.

Fun...hmm, like going to bed early and curling up in front of a movie all alone? That sounds like wonderful fun.

If you are referring to a party, I don't do parties. They're not my idea of fun.
We did parties, in our twenties....then kids came, and no more parties. It became more about cookies, games, and trick or treating. Everything was right for the time. Now, it's seeing the little kids, so proud of their costumes!:D

My mom came in my room to help me put up some pictures and to reorganize my Disney dolls. We have the weirdest conversations

Me: The way you've arranged those dolls, Prince Phillip looks like a play-a.
Mom: *rearranges* Okay, now Prince Phillip is no longer a play-a
Me: Mmm, maybe you should move Barbie as Princess Bride? That way Phillip doesn't look like he's marrying Barbie but keeping Aurora as a concubine.

Mom: In what way do Princesses go with Orioles bobbleheads?
Me: They're the princes. Also, I couldn't figure out where else to put them.

Me: When I was a kid, I always wanted to know why the Barbie dolls never had underwear.
Mom: Well, you know women didn't always wear underwear.
Me: But I still wondered about my more modern Barbies. Like, we wear underwear, why didn't they?
Mom:...you are very strange.
I never lived in the no underware stage . Movies in the 40's had women without bras. But, the other....I'm not familiar with?

Long day and I am exhausted, but we had a great time at the craft fair. DD made a wish jar necklace, we made cards and gift labels.View attachment 117193

Spent way too much money, but we got tons of cool stuff, from glitter paper to nail art pens to beads so I can make Golden Snitch Earrings.
I love the necklace, I have always loved, my Indian heritage, I was given this wonderful pin, from my piano teacher, at about 6. I've cherished that pin for years. It was from an Indian tribe, in Wisconsin. I didn't know at the time that my dad's mother was native American. Now it's more special since they have passed, and I have a special pin for doing so well with my piano studies.

I didn't know that was not allowed in some schools. Our kids can dress up until middle school. That makes sense to me, we couldn't dress up after elementary. It sure was fun for us, in the black ages!;)

In our middle school we don't ever tell them they can or can't dress up. Usually there are a few kids that do dress up but no one did this year. Our student council has a couple contests: a game outside for everyone during our homeroom, and also a scary scarecrow contest, and a couple Halloween guessing contests (guess the weight of a couple pumpkins and guess how many candy corns where in a container).

On a side note, our mail was just delivered and the mail lady was dressed up as Minnie Mouse!

I hope they take you as a volunteer. Our Humane Society accepts a lot of volunteers.
