Hubby just purchased tickets for us to the opening night of Star Wars at a local theater. He is as giddy as a school boy! Now he is anxiously awaiting the preview of Star Wars during Monday night football. I think he will probably make me watch at least 3 times.:)

I heard on the 4:30 AM news this morning that some of the computer online sites crashed last night, because so many people were trying to buy the movie tickets last night.

Oy what a day.

He learned to barely walk the day before our trip. I dropped him off at my Moms that evening so I could pack and he spent the night. She was having such a kick out him walking that she let him walk around her driveway. He fell and clunked his forehead and as most infants had a big knot on his forehead. She drove the three of us the next morning to airport. He on a pretty steep path in a little shaded area that afternoon at Down Town Disney (that I can still picture in my head that doesn't exist anymore near the Empress Lilly). Of course he fell and hit the same lump. I wasn't overly concerned but asked a kiosk vendor for some ice. Sad no, not allowed but pointed me to first aid where they would have ice packs. We went in and they were so nice and said just a minute....it was many minutes and I was kinda surprised. Then we saw an ambulance pull up (yes we were naive young parents at Disney) and thought oh that is why there is an emergency. The paramedics came through the door and asked about the injured guest and they pointed to my son. Dumbfounded. They looked him over real well and were so nice to him and us. After we signed no transport to hospital papers we got a freak'n ice pack. He was fine. : /

We had two other such incidents both with my DD. One when a mini arcade merrygoround slit her stomach and another at the old discovery island (the original near MK) again where she slit her skin on a sharp rock. She is also the one where she completely choked on Pixie Stick Dust in our hotel room and I had to perform the heimlich on my own (didn't call 911 CAUSE I knew what would happen.) Yep have had some interesting visits to Disney in their early childhood years. Thankfully as they grew it ended.

Yikes! And I thought that dealing with my dog was stressful !! :cat: Glad the kiddos were o.k.

Her place has pulled together nicely and it is an amazing first place, very classy. I thank God everyday for my friend that let me know she was going to have a vacancy. She loves it. Who would not. When I can upload pictures again I will share. I've contacted @wdwmagic and he is trying to help with whatever has suddenly gone awry. It is a sweet separation, she is less than a mile, she is here everyday and I'm there almost daily. We are still both tied at the hip. I love this new wonderful adult friendship we have over just Mom/Daughter, she is a lovely young lady that is enjoying her new independence.

Really happy to hear all that. I was a little concerned lately because you weren't quite so active on the forum here, and I was thinking that maybe you were missing your daughter at home. You've mentioned before how close the two of you are. But now that I know you're both in daily contact regardless of her move, that's comforting to hear. :)

When I was growing up it was honey, garlic and lemon if you had a cold now that I think about it, it makes sense. They all have healing properties:joyfull:

I don't know about the mixture of all those as I've never tried it. One thing I do know (somewhat related to this) is that if you have seasonal allergies, having some honey each day can help, BUT, ONLY if it is local honey. Honey from somewhere else will not help. It's only the local honey that contains local pollens, etc., for local allergy antidotes.

I always have some raw local honey in the house for medical reasons.:hungry:

@MouseDreaming

You referenced a few days ago an article from the DailyHerald that I did not see. Can you pull a link. I didn't realize you were directly connected to the controversy that has me 'worked up.' Gads we are closely tied. Can you possibly find the article online and link me to it cause I'd love to read it.

And gadzooks how is administration and the police/security missing the locker situation? Inconceivable given that community.
http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20151014/discuss/151019317/ It was interesting that my DS had no idea this is even going on. I explained the deal, and his comment was priceless. He doubts that is someone trying to get into the boys locker room in his hs, because it smells horrible bad.

And guess what finally disappeared? Yep, the lock. Ugh. I guess I should be surprised that it lasted this long?

As a side note, it is possible that the solution to providing open access to the locker room, would be to completely do away with the few privacy stalls. Which might be kind of a policy back fire, but seems to be the cheapest way to make sure everyone has the same locker room experience.

Feeling silly.

A bunch of schools in my city were in lockdown this morning. The police were trying to find a suspect who was spotted outside the high school caring a gun in a soft case. When I heard about this, I went and got my son from his school because it made me feel better to have him home with me. Throughout the day, more and more schools went on lockdown or were secured as the police kept looking. We decided to take a drive to a city an hour away when I heard the police scanner say they were searching a couple of streets over from our house. They finally apprehended the suspect and he was carrying an odd umbrella in a case. . . .

I guess I can go home now. *embarassed*
Thank goodness people are that vigilant, and it was a false alarm!

Actually, it kinda freaks me out seeing Mickey run like that - makes me think of a bad horror movie. :hilarious:

I like this one, though!

Not that? Come on, it is so cute! OK, how about this?

My mom always told the story of when I was a year old and we drove to Disneyland and visited cousins in California and Arizona on the same trip. Somewhere on the trip, I don't know if it was at Disney or not, but my brother who was 2 and I were playing in a sandbox and I filled his shoe with sand, which he took great offense to and dumped a pail of sand over my head. Then I, who was about the happiest baby on earth from the sounds of it (I think I might have come in 2nd to my daughter, though), was suddenly cranky and whiny and just not myself, so they ended up taking me to the emergency room where they discovered I had gotten an infection in my navel from the sand. Apparently it was not the most fun Disney trip ever.
