Okay this explains a lot. I've been on the ride 4 or so times and have only seen the B version. You really can't see the Yeti at all. Very disappointed. At least I have some hope of it actually working in the future?

Not immediately after, though.
When Pandora first opens they'll need everything else up and running to handle the surge in attendance and/or to pick up the slack during downages as Soarin' over Pandora (and the boatride?) go through their teething problems. After that, Countdown to Extinction needs a refurb much worse than Everest does.
At any rate, I wouldn't expect any work to begin any sooner than 2022.

I doubt we ever see the Yeti move again. Maybe they'll fix the Yeti so just the arm moves a bit.

countdown to extinction does need it more. hell it'd be nice to redo chester and hesters area into its full potential. in all honesty dinoland needs alot more help than expedition everest. but i hold out hope disney will fix alot of these problems in a timely matter

Not to turn this into a CTX thread, but when I rode it in August the "in the dark sequence" at least had the "mini-meteor" strike effects working. They were not working on my previous two trips which meant we were being tossed around in complete darkness.

Just tossing in my $2:

Expedition Everest is a fun ride no matter the state of the effects. Is the B-Show yeti disappointing? YES! Is it ride-ruining when the waterfalls or bird don't work? Not exactly. Is the backwards portion of the drop still fast? YES!! Should Disney suck it up and shut down the ride for a fix? YES!! Does the mountain lose its touch when the effects are off? YES!!!

I have ridden with the Full A Yeti, and it was the most impressive thing I've ever seen! Now, when I board, it pains me to know i'll be riding without the full "Disney Touch". The yeti in my opinion, isn't what makes the ride, its the story of your disastrous mountain quest. I think that the finale isn't necessarily ruined, when the yeti doesn't move, just extremely numbed down. You still see a large, threatening looking yeti, and he's still reaching down for your train. Would it be great to see the yeti swoop for trains again? YES!!!!!

Bottom line: I, like everybody else, is upset the yeti doesn't work.However, the yeti wont prevent me from riding Everest

A buddy of mine who got back last Saturday said that he brought up the Yeti nonchalantly to a Yak and Yeti cast member. His quote was " She stated that the rumor circulating backstage among cast members etc is that once Pandora opens Everest will be down for 2-3 months while an alternative AA is put in place, digital projection will play a big part in the movement etc" Could be a rumor with some legitimacy or it could be a cast member just wanting to act like they're in the know but hey it's something.

Whether that's true or not, it makes the most sense. Pandora takes the strain from the rest of the park giving an opportunity to take down EE for a few months to do what they gotta do.

They're likely just parroting the same things said on here and elsewhere - frontline CM's are told absolutely nothing in terms of stuff like this.

Honestly I think the best plan would be:
Mid 2017: Avatar opens
Early 2018: Dinosaur closes for extensive 6 month refurbishment.
Mid 2018: Dinosaur opens back up with major changes, Everest closes for extensive 6 month refurbishment.
Early 2019: Everest reopens, with new functional Yeti animation, fixed previous effects, and a few new ones.

I'd say give DinoRama the next fix, by taking it down entirely and maybe bringing in a Good Dinosaur attraction or something else completely original.

Taking out Dino-rama wouldn't be a bad option. I like the area, but it is sorely out of place in that park. It almost seems like a knee-jerk reaction to needing something to put in that place last minute before the park was unveiled. I think that entire areas is prime for current attraction removal and a build of one large E-ticket.

Dino-Rama opened almost 4 years after Animal Kingdom opened.
