Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Bad storms here early this morning - lots of trees down and many people are still without power. We had to go to a dr. appointment this morning and played Guess Who's Turn to go through the intersections, since the red lights were all out. Fun times....
We had a terrific storm two nights ago, which brought down a huge limb from our backyard tree.
This has convinced me that the tree needs to come down, sooner rather later.

Five years ago, we had a professional tree service come out, trim the tree, remove all branches touching the house, and cut out all the dead and dying limbs. At the time, the guy told us that the tree was certainly in its final phase of life - maybe 5-10 more years, after which it would need to come down.

It's a 40' tall, 40 year old maple, and while I would be sad to see it go, I'm even more sad about the $3000+ it will cost to remove.

Time to start convincing Hubby that it needs to go. Sadly, I can't remember if the tree guy said removal in the spring or fall was better. Either way, it will have to be spring, 'cause that's when I have a spare couple of grand.

A big storm went past us just to the north around 5 AM this morning. I was disappointed. We could use the rain.
The downside of living in a semi - neighbours who don't maintain their lawn to the same level that you do.

Here's some advice - if it hasn't rained in weeks, perhaps you should make use of your permitted watering day.

Came through here too. I slept through the storm, but woke up feeling hot because the power was out. Came back on before I needed to start getting ready thankfully.

We got it too. Just a bad thunder storm where I live but my sister is 15 minutes north of me and their neighborhood was devastated - trees through houses, fallen on cars, blocking roads and of course, no power. Thankfully it seems to only be property damage since there haven't been any reports of people that were hurt.

In a shameless effort to rack-up Likes, I Googled this nifty picture of the ocean. (Don't judge me. Others have been doing this for awhile now).

Let the Liking commence! Any comments on my brilliance wouldn't hurt either. Googling images isn't easy.
