I hated when TWC stopped showing Weather on the 8's on a regular basis. :grumpy:

I miss the 8s too. Now we don't get it at all anymore.

I completely agree with this. And it's not just melons, it's all fresh fruit. Veggies grown in those greenhouses just don't seem to be as flavorful.

To me it is tomatoes grown in hot houses. Bluck.

The cucumbers that are grown in the greenhouse at The Land are incredibly good and flavorful. :hungry:

The prep is far worse than the procedure . . . ;)

Ya' know, I had heard so many horror stories that I thought the whole process would be a lot worse than it actually was. People are so full of BS (granted, I understand experiences may vary). I had the first one about 7 years ago (due for another one soon 'cause my grandfather died from colon cancer), and it was no big deal. Don't get me wrong, the whole bein' flushed 'till you're shrunk thing was not exactly fun, but, it wasn't that bad.
Then, when I had the actual procedure done, it got even sillier...!
They gave me the anesthetic, and I wasn't goin' out quite like they had expected I would. The Dr. looked at the nurse, and I heard her say to him in a muffled voice "I gave him the whole dose."
At that point, the good Dr. said "Well, since your awake, I might as well walk you through what I'm doing." He turned his monitor to where I could see the scope pics and he explained the whole thing to me as I was watchin' my colon on the big screen...!!! :joyfull:
After it was over he said "Well, you're as clean as a whistle. Any questions." Me "Nope." Him "Well, then I'll see ya' in 10 years." :hilarious: :)

My daughter's first day is August 17th. We always started school on the first day after Labor Day but with all the snow days we've had to make up the past few years they changed the starting date. Now they will get out at Memorial Day instead of mid-June.

Our Elementary and High Schools are separate districts. When our HS went to having finals before Christmas Break school needed to start by mid-August. Parents/Residents strongly requested that we sync the HS vacations for the Elementary to match the HS. We did. It is really nice for the students in HS to be done with the semester. Better vacation than filling out study guides over Christmas vacation.

So only 3 more years for you before "the invasion" takes place again… :p

Well, there's only one way to find out. I'm volunteering you to test the hypothesis: please go out into the woods tonight and when you see a bear, roll up and pretend you're dead. If he leaves you alone and walks away, then playing dead works. However, If we don't hear back from you by tomorrow, we'll know that you were eaten alive, BUT you would have been right (although quite dead, but you took one for the team here) in your analysis, at least!! :hilarious:

Sorry to hear you didn't like San Angel. We love the place. The only bad meal we ever had was at Restaurant Merrakesh. When they brought our meals my and my niece's meals were wrong. My sides were on a plate with her meat and mine was her sides with my meat. When I pointed that out the way they fixed it AT OUR TABLE was to scrape the sides onto a saucer and then scrape them onto the correct plate...at our table...right in front of us. Never going back...ever.

Oh they'd be tip-less. Our food at San Angel was under a heatlamp too long, can't do that to fish. It was rubber. It has too many tables squished in for my liking now, more elbow room in Season's. Then they didn't take the meals off my dining plan, they put everything on my debit card that was to cover adult beverages. Said it is OK you can use the Dining credits a different day. No! It took 5 days for the money to reappear in my account. So annoyed. The downside to being on a CM dining plan can't complain. It doesn't go over well.

I'll say one thing for the Minions... they have merchandized the snot out of it. You cannot go in a store that doesn't have Minion things for sale. Even shoe stores carry backpacks and shoe laces, etc. I don't even remember seeing anywhere near as much Frozen stuff when it was at it's peak. Minions are cuter though and they don't remind me of snow because 'Cold always bothered me anyway!'

Ha! Great Post! :joyfull:

I heard that NYSE was down, due to Greece, and China. United had to ground planes, for a while. Something with a jet landing in Hawaii, glad you are back StarWarsGirl95. I have no idea about the Wall Street Journal, unless they had to go back to press to update the world situation! Yes, I worked at a newspaper in the past, we just sent out an updated evening edition, that costs too much today. Just my one penny's worth. I'm sure it's not worth 2 cents, even with inflation! ;)
I come from a newspaper family. My dad started working at ours when he was 16 and by 21 was the head pressman. Worked there for 45 years until he actually had a heart attack during the morning print one day and he had to retire. When I met my ex he was looking for a better job so my dad hired him and with my dad's retirement my ex took his place. I can remember many years of my childhood hiding all over the pressroom, going over the conveyor belt and climbing the giant rolls of paper. :)
