Funny story, when George W. was stumping to become President he did a train tour through Ohio. He made a stop in my town but I knew I couldn't get to it on time due to work. Luck had it the train was running behind and I got home a few minutes before the it passed my house. Me and my family hoofed it to the edge of the tracks to wave as it passed by.

Surprisingly the train was moving rather slow but we kept waving. The end was coming and we didn't see anybody until....standing outside at the very back of the caboose was George and Laura Bush and **** and Lynne Cheney. We were in shock! They waved back and George W. said "Hello, how are you?" I just kept waving like a dork and said "How are you?" He said "Good." then they were gone. That was awesome. I still am amazed the four were back by themselves but I'm sure they were surprised to see the three of us waving from a field. Nowadays security probably would have arrested us for being so close to the tracks.

Ha! I kept re-reading the first few sentences, Being Huh???? George Washington......duh.

That is such a cool experience. My Dad had Ronald sign my baby picture when he was still an actor outside Sears Tower. A fond memory for him. Me, when the Pope came to Chicago to say Mass. I was jaded already but still in awe of it all.

I met many politicians and celebrates while working at Ohare, but there is something about meeting them by happenstance that makes it that much better.

I don't understand what that thread is about. I sort of read through the first one and a few others, but couldn't figure out the "theme".
its just rants, discussion about future, rumors and leaks of new projects..and some paranoia and conspiracy theories related to TWDC.

Hi guys. I haven't checked in here since I left WDW because I got pneumonia and I haven't been online at all. I just went back to work this week so I'm playing catch up with everything. These Chuck Norris facts are HILARIOUS!!! :hilarious: The funny thing is that I find that series even more hysterical years after it went off the air. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to find a rerun on some channel. :joyfull:
so bad he transformed into a seriously deranged religious fundie.
I was sad to see the hate he spouted towards some groups when he was interviewed (right when the chuck norris facts were on top of popularity)

I'm familiar with it. Here's a short article for anyone who might be interested in how it works... :)

Love reading about these systems.
the biggest mexican tower supposedly has 3 Pendulums (if I remember correctly), and rails/dampeners in the floorbed (because Mexico city is heavily quake prone, and the lake bed amplifies the quake wave power)
Supposed to take up to 8.5 in the richter Scale.
One of the strongest in resistance against quakes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torre_Mayor

Interesting fact: the building as 96 dampeners.. which worked wonders.. Almost nobody in the building felt the 7.6 quake that hit Mexico city in 2003.

*edit*
heres some images of the Dampeners:

We're staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek for 4 nights, Kidani Village for 7 nights, and then final 4 nights a BLT. Plus I'll have 5 more days to "recover" afterward as I'm taking 3 weeks off from work - woohoo! :D

I'll be sure to post pics to help you get through your jet lag. :p
I love longer vacations! I'd rather go every 2 or 3 years and have a nice relaxing time to see and do everything than have one week a year and rush and miss stuff. Next year my dh is taking 4 weeks off (yea for a job where he can bank vacation days)

Ever have one of those days that you are hungry every few hours. I had one of those today.Had multiple small meals today. Weird.

I've had days when I've been hungry every hour! And sometimes on a weekend when I'm home, I'm a bit like a cow -- I graze, and eat here and there, constantly. In the kitchen, out of the kitchen, return and repeat multiple times. Provides me with this sense of euphoria!! :D :hungry:
