LOL I hope you had a good day in the sun!
Yup, sure did. We did a short driving tour up the mountains, and then came back and went to the beach. There was another gorgeous rainbow today. Unfortunately for you all, the best view of it was when my mom and I swam out to the reef and were easily 50 yards from the beach. So no photos, but it was spectacular and a perfect semicicle. Clear water+rainbow+Diamond Head...can't get any better. Also saw a sea turtle when I swam out. Awesome!

Here is a photo from our driving tour.

Tomorrow is Aulani day! I'll miss the view here, but the sofa beds at Aulani are far more comfortable. I gave up trying this sofa bed; been sleeping on it like a couch. Plus that pool and snorkeling in the lagoon...yup, looking forward to it.

Yep, I do whatever of our vehicle maintenance I still can, or have time for.
I still do all our vehicles brakes. Can't remember the last time I ever even paid for brake pads 'cause of AutoZones lifetime warranty. :)
I've helped rebuild a coupla' engines, replaced water pumps, fuel pumps, starters, etc., etc..
Don't do much a' that kinda' stuff anymore, though. ;)

My gosh, a good car mechanic is worth his weight in gold. That's a wonderful skill set to have. You even do your own brakes?! Yikes! :jawdrop: ;)

I really love that one! We were torn between going for 4th of July for the festivities and August for lower crowds for next year's trip. August won

You made the right decision. I think that August would be preferable; any holiday period is usually mobbed. And since you don't mind the heat and humidity, it wouldn't matter at all whether you chose to go in August (July would be just as hot anyway).

Swimming out to the reef sounds like so much fun. I can't even imagine the views you and your mom had out there, topped off by a gorgeous rainbow. :inlove:

July 4th in the parks is on my Disney bucket list, but not with kids in tow who want to ride and ride and ride the rides.

@MOXOMUMD , now that your daughter is on summer vacation, does she have any fun activities during the week? When I was a kid, we had a town swimming pool (it was huge), and I was up there splashing around in the water at least 4 days out of 7. The town also had a summer day camp, and sometimes I'd go to that, because I liked the arts and crafts activities they had for the kids. The rest of the time I'd hang out with my little pals that lived on our street. Sometimes my mother would drive us to the (ocean) beaches, but I realize that you're not close to an ocean. I guess a pool or maybe a lake is what people in your area use for recreation in the summer months. :)

Not a typo when you do it on purpose but thank you for being one of those people
Well, then I take it back. If you do something like that on purpose when no one else knows what you are talking about... the humor is known only to you, the message is unknown and we all just look at it like something has taken over your body and is spitting out meaningless gibberish. So you're welcome!:)

Hi Everyone! my DD is away at camp for the first time, and I am getting a little crazy. @StarWarsGirl95 love the pictures, hope you are having a great time, and can't wait for more!

@Gabe1 glad you got out of there OK. Those storms were something else. We just went through that area the day before the storms dropping off DD at U of I. Spent a good deal of time that night keeping an eye on the radar. Luckily it all went north of her. Very unlucky for all the people who got stuck in it.

I don't think I will be able to catch up at this point after only a few days! Haha I just looked and I would have to go through another 17 pages!! :bookworm: Sorry I missed so much but will prob be the norm sometimes. Lol Me being late is the story of my life! Haha :bored:
No worry, we all get behind sometimes. Glad you and catmom 46 found this sight. It's lots of fun, hearing what others are doing or experiencing! :D
