That one makes me tighten up pretty badly. I have to hold my breath and run through that pavilion. :(

I wish they would consolidate their perfume shops to one or two locations. Maybe to the world traders shop at World Showcase's entrance. I cannot be the only person who is bothered by the fragrances. And it's in so many countries. Italy, Norway, UK, France...some of them are okay, but I pretty much skip Italy and Norway now because of it.

Yep, that is how my DD and I are too. She is much worse than I am. Elevators, trains, airplane and we both just want to flee. My DS on the other hand loved that area of Norway. When home we make him put cologne on outside and hand bottle in as he leaves the building.

That's a good point. I never thought about it because I don't have asthma. But you are right that you aren't the only one.

When you see cases in people with disabilities being discriminated against like the Oregon family and United Airlines or just in cases in normal everyday life....its beyond sad how cruel people are.

I know, the Oregon situation was simply one employee after another being inept.

My DD had two IEPs going through elementary school, one for a severe speech issue and the other for the Gifted Program both being special education programs. The world collided for the school district. Apparently they never had a policy for a child with a disability and being Gifted at the same time, it was so frustrating advocating for her and that is how and why I ran for election for our school board. I've also sat on the board for our school boards co-op for our counties special needs consolidation. None of our districts that belong to the co-op have enough students for the vast amount of programs required so we consolidate like students by grade level vs consolidating different needs. It works out well. As an example we have all our profound hearing issues housed in one school if the parents state they do not want their child mainstreamed into a general classroom, which is 95% of the time. That school is state of the art with the latest tech and teachers with specific special ed endorsements to give those students exactly what they need.

My initial career with the airlines was special services, I met planes and assisted passengers with physical needs, other needs, VIPs and unaccompanied children with plane transfers. I was just floored over Oregon, someone had to know this was going to end badly for the airline. How could they not?

I've spent so many years advocating for special needs I have little patience for twits.

I'm so tired of hearing budget cuts....when will be hearing budget additions....(plussing).. Walt's day....the "world" has changed before our eyes...I can adjust, as everything..in clothing, food, restaurants, have had a steep decline since the last (depression), okay they call it recession...what ever anyone wants to call it...it costs more to do or buy anything anymore...wages don't keep place...My hope for this generation, and the next is we will go back to prosperity, as happened after the Great Depression" everybody pulling together to pull all of us up. I have no doubt, I may not see this. I'm just hoping for all who comes after this generation....I'm 67, incase anyone missed my age. For me, and some of my age, were able to work hard...and get some return, (my parent's did better than us)...so I'm really hoping for a turnaround. Forgive this long post...but most people want their kids and grandkids to do better.
First and foremost, you must stop talking like 67 is the end of life. Give it another 10 years and I will jump on your bandwagon. Til then I will not formally recognize my age as anything more then just another number.

My parents didn't do better then me and I didn't do as well as my children are doing presently. It is all relative. My first new car cost me $3500.00 back in 1970. It was no easier to afford then the $30,000.00 car is today. New cars today are more expensive then my first house was, but, the salaries are way so much higher. My first house mortgage was a whopping $97.00 per month payment and there were times when it was tough to come up with that every month. I'm not worried about the future for them. They will make their own path and will be at least as successful, if not more so, then we were.
Still happens at Tokyo Disneyland. Maybe I'll get to go there one day.

One must remember that Tokyo is not spending Disney's money. They are spending their own and paying Disney handsomely to do so. So the moral of the story is... yes, it is still possible to have that and if someone else gives them the money to do it, they will do it.
That's interesting. I'd love if you could find and post the original plans but no pressure if you can't. Oh please and thank you.
Important to keep in mind here that any plans that were not put into reality were only concept ideas. It was never approved to be bigger so it wasn't a cut in the budget, it was never budgeted to begin with. Whenever Disney or anyone else decides that they want to do something, a large number of concept ideas are thrown out for discussion or review. They then decide based on cost, space available and countless other factors which one to go with. They didn't plan to build a bigger one, they just have concept art that shows it bigger in one of the drawings presented for consideration. The final decision was made for it to be the size it is long before construction even started.

So they didn't cut back they went with the one that they wanted to go with, nothing more.

Planted about half my flowers. Now I am sitting in my Gazebo, it is 80 and a strong breeze outside but a pleasant one in here. Love that my laptop is getting a strong signal out here.

I've taken a mini break and keep glancing over at Walt on the Patio snoozing trying to motivate taking him for his even stroll. And here I sit.

Also looking at the 189 Alerts up in that upper right corner. Ooops.

My family got in the p*rn machine line in Orlando and the TSA threw out their jar of peanut butter.

I never knew peanut butter was a dangerous food to fly with.

Here's a list from TSA of liquid, aerosol and gel items that you should put in your checked bag, ship ahead, or leave at home if they are above the permitted 3.4 oz.

  • Cranberry sauce
  • Cologne
  • Creamy dips and spreads (cheeses, peanut butter, etc.)
  • Gift baskets with food items (salsa, jams and salad dressings)
  • Gravy
  • Jams
  • Jellies
  • Lotions
  • Maple syrup
  • Oils and vinegars
  • Perfume
  • Salad dressing
  • Salsa
  • Sauces
  • Snow Globes
  • Soups
  • Wine, liquor and beer

Yup. I know that people like it, but I think Disney would do well to consolidate their perfume selection. Or do like what they have in France, which is make one shop exclusively perfumes and away from everything else. I think there are probably a lot of people who don't stay in those shops very long because of the perfume smell, or those who are like me and can't be around them might not walk in at all. My theory is that their sales would increase overall if they moved perfumes away from other merchandise and into their own dedicated shops.
