Who needs rope drop? A lot of families without access to GAC/DAS, or a lot of $$$ to go to WDW whenever they want.

SWG and I have been on the same side in the GAC/DAS debates against people who think the programs are too generous. But if we say things like "who needs rope drop" it will only fuel resentment against DAS and those who use it. I'm sure she got my point even though you didn't.

True, I did not get that out of your original post. Me, I don't hold any resentment towards @StarWarsGirl95 or her family for using GAC/DAS for her brother who is autistic. Nor do I waste my time being concerned about who has more $$$ than I do. People like Dan Marinio, John Travolta, Toni Braxton and Jenny McCarthy people with real $$$ and also sadly have children that were afflicted with Autism work tirelessly for a cure for autism. Me, I could careless if any of them make rope drop or not despite their $$$ or if they choose to use the GAC/DAS system for all these families deal with on an ongoing basis 365 days a year.

Me I find myself blessed that we as a family do not require use of GAC/DAS. We could not go to Disney whenever we wanted yet until my kids were adults we never made a rope drop. People for all reasons do or do not make rope drop including @StarWarsGirl95 family.

I don't sleep until 11 am every day when I don't have school like I did back when I was in high school. On weeks like this, when I'm pretty much to bed between 12-1 am and I don't have to wake up super early, 9-9:30 is a good time.

If I sleep later than that, I've been up too late the night before, am tired from too many early mornings (which for me is 7:30 or earlier), or am sick.

My DS and I tend to run nocturnal. When I worked at Ohare I loved 2nd shift and if we hit manditory overtime I was fine. When I would trade with someone and have to start at 6am Oy, I was off my game. Worst for me besides those newborn infant days was when I'd get a call at 3am because a barge hit a bridge and need to pull on my Jeans in the middle of the night and drive to nowhere-ville Illinois.

I understand the appeal of it, but I like sleep.:joyfull:

Yep. Me too. I was up again at 5am making my kid breakfast and packing lunch and dinner up for her as she trains yet another batch of lifeguards for the WaterParks seasonal launch next weekend. Between her career job and launching the WaterPark job she will work 74 hours this week between the two jobs. For a 23 young woman she looks like heck and looked like she was going to fall asleep in her bacon and oatmeal. Poured some orange juice and then made her some high octane tea. Can only imagine what she will look like at 5am tomorrow when she has to do it all over again. :in pain:

Getting up at 5am in comparison to her week didn't seem so bad. Glad you'll get a break from your difficult month soon.

10am was early for me in college. I made sure that my earliest class was 10 and it still sucked. Maybe that is why I sucked so much at school the first year or so...lazy...haha!

Now. 6am-6:30am during the week...7:30-9am on weekends depending on when the kid wakes up.

Try havin' 3 kiddos that are 3 years and 2 mos. apart, one special/medical needs child in the middle that needed a heart/apnea monitor for the first year of his life, that needed recalibrating once a month, and 7 meds that needed to be administered every morning...!!! :joyfull:
Wouldn't trade any of it for the world, except for the obvious fact that we wish DS wouldn't have ever had to go through any of that. But now, physically anyway (the Asperger's and autism aside), he's as healthy as a horse.

Somebody got lucky. :hilarious:

Hahaaa...!!! :joyfull:
Yes! :) But, fortunately, that happens all the time...! ;)
It was just a very romantic and lovely night with my sweetie. The kind we need to make more time for in the future!
We went to dinner with the kiddos and son-in-law, but, the boat cruise, and wine and sea salt brownies :hungry:, was all ours...!

My Tsingtao (yes, a Chinese beer at a Japanese restaurant ;))...

There's all kinds of lucky.

Finding your soul-mate and still enjoying one another 20, 30, 40 years later is as lucky as it gets.

When you see cases in people with disabilities being discriminated against like the Oregon family and United Airlines or just in cases in normal everyday life....its beyond sad how cruel people are.

One and a half more hours of work then I get to go home and sleep. We haven't packed at all but we got the ball rolling. Tonight is pizza and Survivor/ Amazing Race while we do laundry. After tonight I have only Monday night to work plus being on call Sunday day. I want to be excited but I'm already getting frustrated with Disney.
They forgot to send the yellow magical express tags for our luggage. Our travel agent called them and they said it's too late to send them but for us to tell the people magical express when we get to the airport and they will locate our bags by our luggage receipt from our flight. Yea right. I don't trust them. I'm going to try to stay positive but not stupid.

Oh my. Sympathy "like".
I pray Disney makes it right for y'all.

Hubby and I am celebrating our 47th. We have known each other since 7th grade over 50 years. He is still my best friend, and we "get" each other.:inlove:

You know what's sad, those who are cruel...will also face limitations, in their later years. They should think ahead to that time, unless we die early (like my brother, at 44 due to heart disease...RIP). But limitations happen to all, sometimes on a small scale, and sometimes on a much bigger scale. Life doesn't always, seem to come out fairly. I have faith that will happen in the after life. That's my comfort in today's cruel world.
