LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. —A Disney World janitor is accused of kidnapping and sexually battering a coworker in a custodial closet Thursday evening.

Gideon Paul Hunte, 49, of Poinciana, was booked early Friday morning in the Orange County Jail.

The alleged crime happened on Epcot property in a cast members' only area Thursday evening.

Hunte cornered a young female coworker and sexually assaulted her, while the victim tried to get away and told him to stop, his arrest affidavit states.

The attack lasted as long as five minutes, the victim told deputies. The victim was crying and shaking when she reported the alleged attack to her supervisor.

Detectives say Hunte later admitted touching the woman inappropriately.

"This is a law enforcement matter. He has been placed on unpaid leave pending the outcome of the charges. We have zero tolerance for this type of alleged behavior," Disney World spokeswoman Kathleen Prihoda said in a statement.

Hunte is being held on no bond and has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Vile person. I hope she recovers well.

This has happened before though, last year at Art of Animation and at Pop Century in 2007 which is a shame.

This would never happen at Universal!

The doom and gloomers say so.

Just waiting for them to chime in and blame this on Disney.

In all seriousness. This is something that can happen anywhere by anyone in any job. Its tragic, and I'm just glad its being dealt with by the appropriate authorities.

the only fault I see of Disney is they should have had more people working in the area. I pray this young girl can heal and get over this quickly.

The article says she was kidnapped and put into a closet. There are many windows of time backstage that this can occur, even with a full staff in and out of an area.
