Well, made it down to SC. It is currently storming. I only got 3 hours of sleep last night and barely was able to sleep in the car, so I REALLY want a nap.

Your post reminded me about the number of animals that end up as road kill. For example, I know that in Maine, the state will accept bear, deer, and moose (provided the meat is not damaged). They then donate the meat to food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters, and that's a thoughtful way of dealing with the situation. (I don't know how they handle coyotes or other animal road kill, though; maybe it's the same as in your area.)

The only roadkill I see around here is opossum, dog and cat. Not very appetizing, even for the homeless.
