This fellow is the most generic Birds we have, they are EVERYWHERE!
Also there seems to be a huge disparity.. females (this one) overpower males with a 4:1 ratio as far I've seen (males are darker and bigger)

Another nice Shroom!

Also, I apologize for the clear noise due of using high ISO in my Nikon D5100 (not very good ISO quality) but it was getting dark..Using flash washed the colors badly.

My Grand is 95 as well! she's still in acceptable health.. specially mental one.
hopefully Nemo and her mom wont suffer these issues long :(

It is hard. This is round 2 of this for us. My MIL is 91. She is in excellent health but the mind is going, taking an emotional toll on my DH. His Dad has been gone around 7 years.

We had an elderly lady on our road forever. She never married and had a sister in Minnesota that a neighbor looked after that also never married. Ultimately she either needed a guardian or to be placed into state care. My other neighbor took this on, an RN and arranged to pay all her bills, took her to doctor appointments etc., hire a live in care taker, the sweetest lady ever.

She was prone to calling the police when her brain played tricks on her and she got worked up. During the day when my friend worked or was on vacation I was the default. I could usually talk her down by changing the subject frequently enough or bringing my Lab with me, she loved dogs. Police were thankful and often asked if they could leave, if I had it under control. But the worst was night, she'd get up and the caregiver was never getting sleep and said she just had to quit. Ultimately she didn't quit, thank goodness because she was God Sent. The doctors prescribed a good sleeping pill. She slept through the night as did the caretaker. She was far easier to 'handle' during the day after she was well rested and didn't agitate as easy. The magic pill was a game changer. Till the day before she passed at 98 she read and reread and reread 2 newspapers all day long. She was always well read but those last years were amusing 'cause she had no idea she was spending the entire day reading the same articles over and over again but harmless, it kept her occupied doing what she always loved.

Oops, forgot to share the best news of the day.

I called my TA and managed to switch everything over to Coronado Springs. Not able to tweak the dates though, so still going November 1 - 11.

Will this overlap with your trip @NYwdwfan?

Anyone else?

IF we go it's the 15-22. But it's looking increasingly likely that hubby will need to have the back surgery so we are probably not going to make it. :(

Congrats to the L.A. Kings.

Sad for the Rangers. My brother will be devastated.

I stayed around for the handshakes then had to change the channel. Can't watch another team raise the cup. They played well. Well enough to win. Almost makes the loss harder to accept. Lucky for me I'm used to my teams losing so it's familiar territory.

I am envious of your pretty birds. I'm not a big fan of the creatures unless I am drawn by their color though we have the same Robins return to our property every year, kinda like pets now. Most of our birds here are brown or black. Our BlueJays are all dead, west nile virus, Cardinals make me smile because they are such a bright red.

After seeing that picture, we did get the Pop Ice ones, just the blue box.

I think we got the Fla-Vor-Ice when we lived closer to Madison, though.

As you know, we were aiming for the 13-23. Sorry about Hubby's surgery. Just imagine how fit and pain-free he will be for next year's trip though. Fingers crossed for him.

Watching them skate the cup around the rink as I type this. My team (as much as I have one) has not won in my lifetime. The Leafs last won in '67. I was born later that summer. Hubby has suggested I jinxed them.

I'd love to go in November. Low crowds, but Christmas decor is up. Plus, the weather isn't as bad as early December would be. Unfortunately with school, that's not a possibility. Plus with my mom being a teacher, she was never able to take off for a week. When she was a secretary she used to take off and we'd go in October, but that was when I was in elementary school.

So unless I win the lottery and can afford to drop out of college and get my mom retired, I'd say it's a no for us. What a shame, too.

I agree. My BlackHawks played well enough to really go to this round, another exciting season. Sad they lost on our ice though. Never a nice thing to watch.
