do tennis counts as "shoes" ?
Most businesses that have employees on feet like this have moved away from specific requirements for dressier shoes as it often messed up peoples feet forever. When I worked at OHare for an airline we were required to wear pump shoes with a one inch heel. Women were plagued with bunions after decades of being forced to put their feet into these shoes and stand.
I know when my DS did the college program at Disney they had to wear a solid black pair of shoes (some uniforms required white,) no standout logos. Gym shoes it was. Now he wears dress shoes but high end with a generous box and real good padding and arch support. If you look at the lifeguards at Disney they will either be wearing Gym Shoes, Croc's with backs or sandals with backs. You won't see them in flip flops.
