One Little Spark...
With regard to your first picture, I had to laugh, because the size of the equipment reminded me of old photos of ENIAC. All I could think of was, the more things change, the more they stay the same! (Of course, I know zip about computers and networks, but it was a funny, random thought that passed through my little mind.) ;)
Well, with respect to the fact we are going back to the days of thin clients and centralized computing (That's what the "cloud" is in many ways...applications run on the servers, the computer is merely a gateway for the user to get to the servers), we are headed backwards. Distributed computing was the model up until the late 90s...

Those units aren't one big machine, like the old days. Rather, they are racks which contain many, many smaller machines.

Not sure if they are 42U or not (they look to be). If that's the case, each one could be holding hundreds of server instances (depending on what hardware is in there...).

Is it my iPad? All of your attachments are coming up Error.
Also, your post from this morning never did load.

I'd say it's because I'm Canadian, but there's only one person here who holds that against me. ;)
And don't you forget it, eh? All you people sitting up there in the cold, seemingly unfazed by it, obnoxiously polite and eating poutine? How can that be acceptable to anyone?:grumpy:

So, like I said, I got a good night's sleep last night. Then when DH got up, he told me about how he was awake half the night because he could hear Mom up and around in her room (we have a baby monitor in there so we can hear her if she needs help or anything). Apparently I was so tired that I slept right through that.

Back to feeling guilty again...:banghead:
