I had to explain to my DS when he was a preschooler that it wasn't nice to ask how old a lady was, it was his favorite question to everyone as a tot. His response was why? They ask me how old I am.
Good question actually! We all are whatever age we are, what does it matter who knows. My mother always kept it a secret to her friends. We were shocked when she said that she wanted her date of birth on her tombstone. I guess by then she didn't care one way or the other. I have had six uncles and cousins that passed away before they turned 61. I'm proud to be almost 66. I was the one that looked the most unhealthy. :jawdrop::joyfull:

Then suddenly, somewhere between about 70-80 years old, they'll tell you when you weren't even thinkin' about askin...
"Well, I'm 75 now, and when I was your age..." :D ;) :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Normally, I would agree. But, although @JenniferS is definitely a lady, she has pretty much never had any qualms about letting us know her age from day one...! ;) :)
Thank you. It is what is.

Plus, I think I still look okay for my age.

I aged about 10 years while dealing with my parents' illnesses and deaths; but that my friends, is life.

You play the cards you're dealt. You try to be happy. You have lots of love, laughs and afternoon "coffee". You choose joy whenever possible.

And you cut your enemies loose. Negativity, bad feelings, and resentment make you old before your time. And as Sweet Brown so aptly said, "Ain't nobody got time for that."

Thanks, Gabe! :)

Speakin' of which, somethin' I've been meanin' to ask for a very long time...what exactly is your avatar, and where can I get one...?

It was blue raspberry/lemonade combo forget what liquor but at AK they always pack a punch.

It is located at a free standing kiosk on the path from the Safari to Everest. Heading to Everest it is past where Devine usually hangs out. Lots of yummy choices.

My DS and I had one for a late breakfast one morning heading to Everest, it was an interesting morning, good times, good memories. On that trip it was the last full day off he had with me so we were kinda drinking around the parks that day. Never got drunk as I would fall down if I tried that or at least fall asleep but a memorable day. My avatar brings fond memories.

Agree - to a point.

DiCaprio is more than just a pretty face. He is an amazing actor, who has conquered an astonishing array of different character roles.

And, you know - the Titanic thing ....

ETA - Did I really initially type "rolls"? What the heck?

Actually, that was my point. (sorry for not being clear)

DiCaprio has incredible acting skills, But I mean many actors are selected because of their model body/face.

DiCaprio was first selected because he was just a pretty model back (just like many others.. like brad pitt)

They of course, did learn how to act and improved.. giving Oscar-level acting in many of their movies.

But these are few and rare.. most just fade or keep doing pretty face movies.. (like Transformers favorite girl "Megan Fox" or Twilight's Kristen Stewart)

The Oscar nods he has racked up speak for themselves.

Agree. But I think he is one of the "exception of the rule".

Yep, I'm 51 and I don't give a rats bloated behind who knows it. Life hasn't always been a darn daisy farm (and, why would anyone think it would be in the first place?). Anyway, I've brought a lot of crap on my own darn self, so I've always tried to teach our kiddos that life will deal you enough stuff when you least expect...don't go out and help it by creatin' your own avoidable crap. But, I'm generally a really easy goin' guy that cherishes every day, and that likes to laugh and make others laugh. I'd prefer not to be leavin' this earth anytime soon (unless maybe to head to the moon for a week or two just to say I've been there ;)), so I can be around to see our grandchildren, and maybe even a great one or two. :) Plus, there still seems like there is sooo much still left to be done and experienced and so much love and joy to be shared with loved ones.

On a side note (which is what probably lead to this long, reflective post):
I got a text from my sister today, 12 years my junior, telling me that she loved me very much. I've never gotten a text from her...ever. Being so many years apart (she started kindergarten the year I graduated HS), We haven't really been close since she was a toddler and I was just a big, silly brother.
Anyway, when I opened the post, she told me that her husbands (my BIL) youngest brother committed suicide last night. She said it really made her think, and had so many nice things to say about me and my family, and my brothers and their families and all of us. She and her loving hubby have 3 young kiddos and live in Louisiana, so we don't see them all that often.
Yep, life can be just too darn short.
My grandmother on my fathers side always used to say... "Live like you're gonna' live forever, pray like you're gonna' die tomorrow."

Who is really peaking my interest is Shailene Woodley. Rarely do you find an actress that started so young that is that good of an actress. Thinking we will be seeing good things from her in the future.
