I'll be travelling to WDW in Sept and this will be the first time I have used dining plan so i want to make the most of it. where are the best vegetarian options, i'm looking at both counter and table service options. has anyone ever been offered anything that's not on the menu? I have looked through menus so i have a vague idea where I want to try, but it would be nice to hear any tips or reviews of individual dishes. thanks :)

When in September? Because the Epcot Food & Wine Festival usually has the Terra Booth which is nothing but vegetarian/ vegan options.

Hello,

I have a few favorites. In MK, I like the Columbia Harbor House, they have two veggie options: veggie chili and the Lighthouse sandwich. I have never had the chili, but the sandwich is essentially hummus and broccoli slaw on toasted bread. Pecos Bill also serves veggie burgers and they cook them away from the regular burgers to avoid cross-contamination.

At Epcot, I typically go the Tangierine Cafe and get the dish that is pictured above. Sunshine Seasons also has some veggie options, but they are as good as they used to be, IMO. The last time I ate there I got chik'n and stir fry noodles. There were no vegetables. Hello?! We're VEGetarians, we like the vegetables.

In all the years I've been going to WDW, I've never eaten at the Studios. I find DAK lacking for veggie options, but I know they have a QS place that has a veggie noodle salad and veggie spring/summer rolls.

I like the Flying Fish Cafe. It's not always on the menu, but you can ask your server for the "bento box." It is served on a dish with four compartments and each compartment has a side dish of veggies and one has their awesome risotto. The servers have always asked me my definition of vegetarian, so there is no ambiguity about what to give me.

The Captan's Grill is good for breakfast. I like the buffet, because it has a lot of variety for veggies.

Jiko, Boma and Sanaa also have lots of great options for vegetarians. It helps to like Indian food, though!

This was off the top of my head. I'll see what else I can think and post them.

There are 2 vegetarian options at 50's Prime Time Cafe in HS. They also have veggie burgers at the counter service location near TOT.

I have traveled with my Vegan sister to Disney numerous times over the past few years and she was accommodated at every QS and TS restaurant. At the QS, a special menu was usually given to her and if necessary, the chef came out to speak with her. At the TS, the chef always came out to speak with her (even at buffets). At the Signature Restaurants, they cooked up something not even on the menu (Cali Grill and Citricos).

thanks there's some really great ideas for me there. haha that is really weird having no veggies in a vegetarian dish, although i should be careful what i wish for. when I went to Turkey a few years back, the hotel we were staying at took "vegetarian" a little too literally i got served plate after plate of vegetables with nothing else!

Hey, I see you're from Warrington. My husband is from Frodsham, but he has family in Warrington. I've been there a few times. We live in the States now, where I am from.

Where are you staying, because I have recommendations for QS places if you're staying at Boardwalk, BC/YC, or the Swan/Dolphin, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Actually, if you like Italian food, I like Il Mulino. They have a pasta dish called rigatoni alla funghi, if you're into mushrooms. It's not in a cream sauce, but a white wine/butter sauce. It's really tasty.

Hello,

In all the years I've been going to WDW, I've never eaten at the Studios. I find DAK lacking for veggie options, but I know they have a QS place that has a veggie noodle salad and veggie spring/summer rolls.

Backlot Express & the Studio Catering Company both serve a grilled veggie sandwich that I think is decent. (Grilled Vegetable Sandwich - basil asiago artisan bread, mushrooms, red peppers, zucchini, tomato, watercress and cheese with sundried tomato pesto) My husband & I don't eat in the Studios too terribly much as we generally find the choices lacking, but I've gotten this sandwich 3 or 4 times in the last few years & found it to be pretty tasty. I'm not a vegetarian, but if I find myself in the Studio's & am hungry, this is generally my go to option.

I have noticed as well that DAK seems to be lacking for veggie choices. There is a kiosk-type place on the path between Asia & Africa (close to Flights of Wonder) that sells Samosas with a mango chutney on the side, a falafel sandwich, hummus platter, & an asian noodle salad. I can testify that the samosas are darn good & the hummus platter was good as well. Was it the best hummus I've ever had, no, but it come with some veggies & mini pitas. Both were good snacks for me. Haven't had the other 2 offerings. The drawback is that there isn't any dedicated seating for the place & all seating is outside with no cover.

no kidding! we have family ties to Frodsham and one of my best friends is getting married there next month, small world or what? We are staying at AoA, I love Italian i could happily live off pasta, anything spicy is always good too. I'm not a massive mushroom fan just to complicate matters when your a veggie haha

We went to The Garden Grill in Epcot in the Land Pavillion and was offered a polenta dish with grilled vegetables. I didn't see it on the menu. It was very good.

Well, F&W starts 9/19 this year, so you could catch a bit of it if you wanted. The 19th and 20th will probably be quite crowded, however.
Ah cool i might go and have a look not been to F&W for four years, I never saw the vegetarian stand then, will have to keep my eyes peeled this time!

Well, many of the booths aren't there every year, though, if memory serves, Terra has been up for a few years in a row and seems quite popular, so there's a good chance it will return.

If you DO check out F&W, just be prepared to body check your way through a huge mass of drunk people.

First of all know I am a Pescatarian (I eat fish) so my experiences will differ a little compared to your diet.
All TS have vegetarian options and if what they offer isn't appealing to you usually the Chef can come up with something you will enjoy. That being said I suggest that you take a look at the menus of places you are interested in that way if your party decides to dine at a certain place and you don't like there vegetarian options you will be able to contact them before hand and the Chef will be notified instead of having to whip something up at the last minute.

Some of My favorite Pescatarian/Vegetarian/Vegan friendly TS and CS restaurants on property are:

__TS__
Boma
California Grill
Il Mulino and other Italian restaurants around the World
Maya Grill and other Mexican restaurants around the World
Raglan Road
Sanaa

ah nice, it will be just like being back at university then! is it just me that finds it really off putting seeing that at Epcot? it just seems so inappropriate to me.
