Hide something of his...

Ideas like this help me realize I should not have children anytime soon.

The cell phone would do it.

Yeah, I never inquire into the 'whys' people don't have children or the 'whens' either. I raised two about 5 years apart that I deliberately chose to bring into the world. I gave up my first career as the first hit school age and the second was born. I brought them into the world and he grew to that age that either he and then she would be raised by someone else while I worked or I was going to raise 'em. Its is a huge commitment, not certainly not for everyone. I keep telling that to my DS that is pushing 27, You're only young once and there is no going back once you you go down that path, your life is theirs from that point forward.

I used a stroller for my daughter until she was almost four which was eight trips. Then she was off and running every trip since.

Unfortunately I was in a scooter for our last trip. Right before the trip I was in a boot from a broken ankle. Being as it's just me and my daughter, a wheelchair wasn't happening. I'll tell you though I was the most courteous person on it. If I saw a lot of people in the bus line, I waited until they cleared out. I never ran over toes and always let people cross in front of me and never jumped to the front of the line. I guess we're just nice like that, huh? :)
you're clearly a rarity in the scooter community. way too nice and courteous.
We need to give you a 24/7 training on how to ram people's legs with dedication and pride!

I'm getting the same creepy/crazy vibes from that mom that I got from the Game of Thrones character that still breast feeds her 6 year old...

Some of these Moms are crazy. The kid looked like he just wanted to be a boy and the Mom was not ready for him to stop being an infant. They were not a young couple by any means. I'm sure that is why they had to add an extension to the stroller, he had to be eating his knees. Maybe he was the spawn of the crazy feeding Mom. :p

Really? You expect a parent to carry their baby around WDW? What about naps? What about giving the parents a break? Besides, both my brother and I were in strollers until we were 6. Pretty simple; we both needed naps on occasion up until we were that age, and occasionally it was used if we were acting up. It's a personal decision, and people should not judge others based on whether or not their children are in strollers, especially those who don't have kids.
its disney.. NO NAPS UNTIL YOU DIE!!!
sleep is for when you return ;)
I also mix them with sauteed mushrooms and serve as a side for steak or atop BBQ burgers. Slurp. :hungry:

well thank you, I now crave a french onion soup :/

Let's not get diverted and bring the stroller discussion into this thraed. We need to stay on topic... which was... hmm... something about some guy named Bob??

Bob hasnt been found.. yet.. we only seen glimpse of him in certain tv shows.
in other news, the 7DM is almost crunchy enough for a hard launch.
They're still condimenting it with some varied CMs.

Nah, it sounds like we think alike.

I had to return some over-due library books, and he kept calling me in the car, swearing and yelling and acting the general fool. I, of course, kept hanging up on him.
When he called back the fourth time, I very calmly asked, "Is there something wrong with your phone? We keep getting disconnected."

Can you say - Passive Aggressive?

Anyway, he has decided he has tormented me enough, so he is back out there planting - only because he needs the cash. And I am letting him - only because my allergies are through the roof, and I fear I am going to rub my eyes right out of their sockets.

First unofficial long weekend of the summer, and I get to work all three days; which is preferable to being home. So ... YAY!

Question, the allergy issue with your eyes cant be fixed by wearing those "work" googles they sell in office depot?

RAW tomatoes.
Once they are cooked or processed somehow (ketchup, juice), I can tolerate them.

As I've mentioned, I worked in a pizza place for the last year of high school/first year of university, and developed a contact skin allergy to tomatoes. And, a dislike for pizza.

I worked for Fannie May as my first job, a high end chocolatier. It lasted only the summer and I moved on.
I was raised eating the stuff, my folks loved it. But after sticking those little pieces of candy in the little paper cups and then boxing up all the chocolate in the shoppe day after day I couldn't eat the stuff for about 10 years.
Just the overwhelming smell first thing in the morning after a few days working there. We could eat as much as we wished while working. Nobody did but it beat working at McD's.

We were in Cooks at the Poly a table over from the windows in the auxiliary seating room the last day it was open. In came A Mom, A (beat'n down) Dad and a boy about 6 or 7, they chose a table for 2 next to us against the window. They brought the stroller in. The boy didn't seem to have issues, just a well rested elementary school kid that really wasn't in the mood to eat, you could tell he was ready to get to getting.

Well they needed to wedge a 3rd person in next to us and a tank stroller that someone had retro-fitted with plywood at the bottom that extended the umbrella stroller maybe 3/4 a foot. (I'll find the picture.) The Mom kept pulling at the boy to sit on her lap and stroked him like an infant while she would then attempt to spoon feed the school aged kid, he'd get annoyed and then she'd pull him into her chest and wipe his face, this went on and on. You could see the Dad tense up and biting his lip, nice start to the day. I was a stroller pushing Mom but seriously you need the stroller in a restaurant for a 6 or 7 year old? Even if there were issues that were not apparent the window wall/door was maybe 5 feet away.

That wood thing... good gawd, it's a battering ram! I saw more 5-8 year olds in strollers than I did younger children.

But I really didn't mean to bring the whole stroller debate thing in here. I was irked (still am) that strollers are now included as concept art. Makes the place look cheap and geared towards kids. That really shouldn't be the aim for a high end (money wise, at least) resort on property. But what do I know.

Wait til your father gets home mister!

lol. My DH is so happy I never used that line. I had a way of just shooting a certain glance and they knew better. Never really had to really do it to my DD, she was born an adult. She was a spooky scary kid that pleasantly unnerved me. She was very quiet but observed and analyzed everything. Could read childrens chapter books by 4 years old without being taught. she was 4 years old she could write, add subtract and for fun often wrote everything in mirror image. If the manchild picked on her she'd just scream but she'd patiently wait, strike and get even, somehow. He learned quickly not to mess with her. Still doesn't. He often calls her and asks her advice on situations he has to deal with at work. Funny how that all changes when they grow up.

Ahh, we talk about food here, FP+, do our own version of live trip reports, school, work, what a smorgasbord thread it is. Oh yeah, I've seen a few posts about that stuff that is called beer too @donaldtoo ;)

I do agree with you though, people are taking pampering and entitlement to a whole new level at WDW these days, a generalization but obvious. I didn't take strollers into lobbies or restaurants and my DD was 2 months old on her first trip. Some like AKL you'd have to as that is how the main building is set up to access the rooms.

But what struck me in the concept art was the message Disney was trying to plant, a resort for small children, which I never believed the Poly was. Now with them adding a splash area to the Volcano pool area and the deliberate pictures of strollers and very small children in all the concept art it appears Disney is trying to change the target demographic of guests of the Poly.
