I don't understand why people like you post, the op was asking for opinions from people here on the forums. Isn't that what these are for is asking people what they think? All you had to do was answer the question & help her or not post at all & go on to the next subject!
First, thank you for telling me how the internet works.
Second, I know it's a moot point since the OP booked a resort and all, but here was the logic behind my genuinely-trying-to-be-helpful-and-apologizing-for-knowing-how-it-read-but-still-trying-to-help-nonetheless post.
Maybe the internet works differently for me than most folk, but generally, when I type a word or phrase into a search engine, the links I'm given are usually in order of what the search engine regards as "relevancy." For example, if I type in the name "Ronald Reagan" the first item I get is the wikipedia entry for Reagan, followed by an entry on the white house site, followed by biography.com. If I type in the word "Doppelganger" I get again wikipedia, followed by a merriam-webster definition. "Ibiza" once again goes to wikipedia first, followed by Ibiza's official tourism page (all this despite the fact that I don't use wikipedia all that often). "What do bad clams look like" first gives me an image search on "bad clams," which includes actual photos as well as cartoons of clams with attitude, because "what do bad clams look like" is not that common a phrase. So the search engine opens its parameters, looking for relevance. And until/unless net neutrality is struck down officially and websites can pay search engines to always be a top search item, that's probably the way it will continue to work.
If you type in "dvc rental," you get the three links I provided, because they're the most relevant, the sites most people use, the most popular sites. The ones who make the effort to be above-board and safe so you won't feel you risk being scammed if you use them. The three, along with mouseowners (#5 in my search query BTW), most people apparently seem to use. It wasn't meant to be snarky, it was a way to say "why wait, you're in a rush, here are the three most widely used rental sites."
Hope that clears everything up.
To the OP, I'm glad you got a rental. The only potential negatives about SSR (and that depends on who you are and what you want out of a WDW vacation) is the location (since you're not walking or monorail or ferry distance to any of the parks) and a somewhat more muted theme compared to other DVC resorts. Meanwhile, if anyone in your party likes to shop, you couldn't pick a better place. If you were thinking about doing La Nouba, great location. If you don't have a car of your own and want to go to other resorts to visit or eat, you are close to a "hub" where you can catch a bus to any other resort (ask to stay in Congress Park if possible). 2 main pools and some quiet pools. Lots of dining options because of its location. More "plus"-es than many people realize.
How did you wind up renting?
