Best TV show ever. For many years I wanted to BE Thomas Magnum and yet, here I am much more Jonathan Higgins (in physique, not career - I'd love to care for the estate of a rich guy who never used it).

Still at work, an hour late, having accomplished absolutely nothing (in fact I lost a deal today), scarfing down a Wendy's chili - but I MUST check a certain thread to see if the SDMT has opened before I leave.

I'll be ticked if it happens while I am driving home.

Higgins is to be admired too.
As someone who is terrified of large (and medium, and medium-small) dogs, it's kind of sexy how he controls Zeus and Apollo with just the tone of his voice.

(Ah, never mind, I just remembered that I control a 6' 8" 265 lbs giant the same way. Carry on.)

Good Grief. The more I look at the big pic of my avatar the more I become convinced that it could possibly, actually, be my grandfathers old car. He bought it new, but, I first remember ridin' in it through the pasture on the farm when I was a kid and it was an old rust bucket. He then spent 5 or so years painstakingly restoring it. I remember there bein' parts catalogs all over their house during this time. When he was finished it was just unbelievable how that old junker became this shining jewel! :joyfull: He actually drove it quite often around town, and also in many parades after that. As I posted before, everything on that car (except the 3 badges on the upper portion of the radiator (which the new owner could have added) is sooo darn, stinkin', close to how he had the car detailed that I remember it as EXACT...the two tones of green paint, the yellow pinstriping that he did himself with a brush, etc,. etc,. etc.
After he passed at the age of 89 in 2001, the family decided to sell it to a collector.
Woof! The memories...! :)

My DD just graduated from the University of Illinois a very liberal, co-exsist, tolerant institution. Every choice in any sub group or religion welcomed. In their Union Chic replaced McDs in their food court. My DD first encounter with them was them handing her debit card back and saying something like you have to have money in your account for a debit card to work. There was, she told them to try it again or punch the numbers in, they said that wouldn't do for insufficient funds in a loud tone, meant to be heard. They snatched their food back. She walked to the counter right next to theirs (about 2 feet) ordered and used her debit card. She looked at the manager as she walked away with her food and suggested he learn how to process a debit card or they'd be out of business.

And then the controversy hit. Even if someone wanted to they didn't dare walk up to their counter. The only business they received from that time forward was the little business from the University hotel above the Union or from the unknowing visitor to the university. Her Junior year it went out of business and at the Semester this year Wendy's moved in.
