150 minute wait for IASW!

I was on the MDE browsing at wait times about 10:30pm tonight and saw the wait time for It's a Small World was at 150!

At first I actually thought perhaps some seriously avid fans of the ride must have gone to celebrate the 50th, but apparently someone putting in the wait times must have added a 0 at the end making it 150 instead of just 15 (which it was corrected to the next time I looked).

The crazy thing is that the 150 seemed possible as you can't underestimate the passion for rides of Dis fanatics!

What's funny...there are times during spring break where I've seen reports come in of seriously long waits at the attraction. I wish I could remember the exact time, but a friend goes every year during spring break since her parents live in the area and she posted a crazy long wait for IASW during spring break either last year or the year before.

Now I LOVE :inlove: IASW...even bought my girls some of the dolls they're offering right now...but 150 min wait- no way.;)

Well Small World would be deserving of it. One of the truly great Disney experiences. Uplifting, inspiring, smile-inducing, As a ride it is beyond reproach, great capacity, endless re-rideability, instantly like-able, no silly backstory, appealing to all. As a cultural phenomenon, it is Disney's answer to the cold and dark world of the mid-century decades. And still timeless. It is perfect.

Its wait times have largely doubled since the addition of FP+, but 150 minutes? Wow - that would be something!

I love it more than most, but I don't think I'd be able to handle a 150-minute wait. :)

IASW is a classic...and a must do...once or twice a decade...Because it takes about 5 years to rid your mind of the song...I will say if you listen to the Sherman brothers sing it...it's a GREAT song...it's just the attraction's version takes up residence within your mind...and never leaves.

As much as I love that ride (which is strange, because when I went for the first time when I was 2, I said it was stupid. :hilarious:), I would so not wait 150 minutes for that. For any ride, for that matter.

Probably just an operations manager trying to scare off people. Attraction queues DO have physical limits on how many people they can hold in them, and when that limit is close to being reached, sometimes Disney will do little tactics like driving up the posted wait time to insane heights to drive people away until the line dies down.

Keep in mind, it was just the 50th anniversary. With all of the publicity, i'm sure a load of people wanted to be someone on "The 50th Anniversary It's a Small World."

P.S. Happy Birthday to It's A Small World!

If it was my only day there and I've never been there and I've never going back I would wait but if not definitely not for small world I would have to have a 15 minute limit

The longest we've ever waited in line for IASW was 35-40 minutes, pre-MDE (or Mobile Magic) when the queue sign said 25 for standby and it wasn't raining outside (a lot of people actually, sporadically get in line for IASW if it starts raining... I have seen it happen).
