Does anyone bring a gun on their trip?

I personally always carry. In Louisiana I can legally carry my gun in the open and walk any where that's not a posted gun free zone. I don't go that far but it is always in my truck, only time I keep it on me is at gas stations and other places like that at night and yes I have had to pull it out a few times to prevent things from escalating before.

Now with that said, I also always bring it with me on road trips, I've never driven to/through a state where I couldn't have it at least in its case. My question is, are guns allowed on Disney property? I've never seen a sign saying other wise. Also I'm sure others travel with a handgun so do you all leave them in your vehicle in the parking lot or bring them in your resort rooms? I do have a case I keep it in and I would absolutely lock it up no matter where it is if I'm not with it.

Just getting y'all's opinions.

PS - Before someone says it, no, it would not even come close to the parks/buses/monorail/boats or anything like that.

I don't believe they prohibit guns in the resorts. They are obviously not allowed in the Theme Parks (as you allude to). With some of the issues you hear about at DTD parking lots, maybe it would be safer to carry.......

I believe they are prohibited in all areas of the WDW resorts, this was an issue a few years ago when FL changed a law allowing easier carry rules and Disney prohibited employees from having them in their cars because they are prohibited on Disney property. This was from news about 3-4 years back, so they may have updated their policies to reflect current FL laws, but I don't think they did.

Yes, DTD is the only area that I would even consider carrying in but that would only be if I was there late at night after a late movie or something like that, not a day trip though. My fiancé and I went and saw a midnight movie there a few trips ago and we had a pretty long and lonely walk back to our car afterwards about 2am or so. Now that I'm thinking about it I'm sure that wouldn't work because I assume AMC Theaters and each of those restaurants/bars at DTD have a no firearm policy so it would stay in the car.

According to this guns are prohibited in all areas of the Disney Resort, including all parks and all resorts. It looks like they do have Safe Deposit boxes to store it in while on property if you wish to at the resorts.

Thank you, I'm going to check into this.

I don't believe Florida honors Concealed Carry permits from residents of LA.

The law says the firearm can't be out in the open or easily accessible, it has to be in the glovebox, center console, snapped in a holster, in a case with a lid, etc. I have a case for it so that's fine and I'm allowed to walk with it while transporting it to/from my vehicle from a building (business/residence). But you are right, I can't walk around other places with it concealed or open.

I have the exact law printed out with law # and all for each state I travel in just incase I run into any cops that need a refresher course on their states law. After hearing about the guy that was moving from one state to another and got stopped while driving through New Jersey with unloaded guns in his trunk and then getting sentenced to 2 years in jail, I've become vary knowledgeable on all kind of laws for states I'm traveling to/through.

As one CHL holder to another I'd suggest you do your own due diligence. I read it on the internet isn't a valid defense if you get popped. It's not hard to check reciprocity along your route. It's not hard to make a call to Disney to find out what their policy is. It's all part of the responsibility you took on when you applied for your license.

I think the question has been answered as well as possible on this forum. The suggestion to call and find out WDW's rules might be the best.
