There is no such thing.I just thought that was was a bad picture of Halle Berry
The thing with the falls is that all those big chunks that are at the base are just rocks that have fallen from the face of the falls, coated with ice. It looks pretty, but it's not all tha spectacular. The water continues to go over the edge unabated just falling behind the ice. Call me when the water stops and the Niagara River starts to back up.Did you guys see the photos of Niagara Falls (if not...you're about to)?

Will it be easier to go over in a barrel? The thing with the falls is that all those big chunks that are at the base are just rocks that have fallen from the face of the falls, coated with ice. The sad thing is that they figured that within the next hundred or so years, the American Falls will no longer exist, but, will be rapids due to the pieces falling off.
Schools opened 2 hours late here today due to freezing rain. The roads were OK when I went out but sidewalks were slick. It's warmer now and forecast to stay that way for at least several days.Everything around here is ice right now. We knew this was coming for a few days, but was there any salt on the roads? No. Are there several vehicles in ditches? Yes. Schools got out early today to avoid the ice/sleet.
It's warmer here today, but that's what's causing the ice. The temps are near freezing, so it's a freezing rain that's coming down now.Schools opened 2 hours late here today due to freezing rain. It wouldn't have been my first choice for an addition to AK but it's nice to get some sort of addition there instead of more subtractions. They had a photo op ground-breaking ceremony for Pandora at DAK today.
It's coming people, like it or not.
Me, I'm happy to be getting anything, although I do believe it will turn out to be pretty spectacular!
I see it basically as a substitute for the original Beastly Kingdom idea, which wouldn't seem as original now due to additions as Universal. I hope there's still money and space to eventually add another land at AK that's more like Africa and Asia.I'm not a big Avatar fan, but I think it can be nicely done. I'm excited to see the final product, especially the rockwork, etc. I think it can be a beautiful place, I'm just not sure about the attractions portion. We'll have to wait a few decades to see the finished product, though.
Well, we sure don't want to harm a blade of grass with that nasty old salt. Better a bunch of dead people. Choices we make as human beings with only a minor knowledge of what they are talking about.Everything around here is ice right now. We knew this was coming for a few days, but was there any salt on the roads? No. Are there several vehicles in ditches? Yes. Schools got out early today to avoid the ice/sleet.
Australia! Australia!I see it basically as a substitute for the original Beastly Kingdom idea, which wouldn't seem as original now due to additions as Universal. I hope there's still money and space to eventually add another land at AK that's more like Africa and Asia.
Here in Raleigh, I was just listening to the local news and they had a segment on the Falls Freezing over. Not a clue, these people. Reporting, I guess just for the sake of having something to report that the ice has caused the Niagara Falls Parks to close the observation decks, etc. it's so bad. Also that there has been a warning that some of the islands in the Niagara River might become flooded. What they didn't mention, probably because they didn't know and just plain do not understand winter weather, is that those decks are never open in the winter and even if somehow the falls managed to freeze solid blocking the American Falls, the Horseshoe Falls in Canada is part of the same complex and that is moving water like crazy. Couldn't flood if it wanted too. Will it be easier to go over in a barrel?
It's good to know that crazy people existed in 1912 as well, but, like I said it just illustrates that this is nothing new and is probably mild compared to back then. This may be more to your liking @Goofyernmost.
