We've been a DVC member since 1997. Since we moved to Central Fl in 2006 we have usually booked last minute at Walt Disney World - like a few days or a week before - because it is only a 90 minute drive. Until last year we could always get accommodations, but now I am really struggling to get a booking at any DVC - not just my homes of Boardwalk and Saratoga, even for a one or two nighter. My rationalization for this is the DVC points rental market is alive and very well, and the partnerships or whatever you call them between DVC and RCI, plus other time share businesses are filling up the spaces first. There was a time that DVC was just for DVCers - I'm thinking that is another thing that is now for the history books. Am I off base with these assumptions?
