Disney Buffets!

Ok I've never had a buffet at WDW...Shock..Horror..It's true..So here's my question to you all..One of my many Disney friends who is going his first trip next year asks me " Can you eat as much as you want,or do you get one serve only." Now the reason he wants to know this is because,we have a hotel that does a Smorgasbord on a Saturday night,where you can help yourself all night as its a dance/buffet night..So how does it work at Disney.?

The real challenge is to keep reminding yourself that you can go back up...i.e. so you're not building a plate that's a towering masterpiece of sheer gluttony.

Wow! My friend will love that answer.Cheers @safaribob ..He's the only man I know that ate 6 Scottish pies in the first half of a soccer game ( 45 mins ) and 5 in the second half....These pies are filled with mince meat and have a crust..My record is 3 and I couldn't move after it..

Send him to Boma and Biergarten. The two best buffets @ The World, IMHO. If he ever wanders off to Las Vegas, send him to the Village Seafood Buffet @ the Rio hotel.

I like trying small portions of as many different kinds of things as possible.

I've taken that approach with plate 1 before...especially if it's a buffet like Boma with lots of options. Then plate 2 ends up being the faves from plate 1. Dessert is a whole different ballgame though.

I just fill a plate of stuff that looks interesting. If I can't fit it all on one plate, go back for plate 2. If not full, head back for faves. Then desserts if they haven't already been snuck on to plate 1 or 2.

I'm not big on desserts so I usually go wild with the appetizers, entrees and sides.

Try the Bellagio's buffet if you ever have a chance to go back. It takes buffets to a whole new level! YUM!

I always embarrass myself at CP breakfast but I justify it by telling my self I am "carb loading" for the day ahead...of course carb loading really does not apply to the THIRD helping of Pooh's Puffed French Toast. Biergarten Is also awesome as previously mentioned and we are doing it for our first night at the world in Sept..nothing like freshly carved red meat and a huge frosty mug (or three) of bier at the end of a long travel day!

Eat all you can! We have a phrase at our house "Biergarten Full" because I stuffed myself so much at the Biergarten once we left the restaurant we had to find a bench right away because it was too painful to walk! Now when we are at a buffet hubby reminds me, remember don't get Biergarten full!

I don't like buffets at the world bc of poor quality don't like buffets anywhere matter of fact. I also know they are walking health code violation. But when I am there I try to eat them out of business
