Claiming your spot for a Parade

I don't remember, but last time we waited probably 30-45 minutes and got a front row spot. It was behind trashcans, but we just stood for the parade. This was in June, by the way.

On our last trip, I thought I was the man! I found a perfect spot right near the liberty square bride, right to the left of the castle. Perfect for both the MSEP and Wishes. MSEP was perfect, but right before wishes started, a CM told us that we wouldn't be able to see the fireworks because of the trees. Needless to say, he was right and we ended up running to the front of the castle and getting yelled at every 5 minutes for not being within the taped lines. :bawling:

We got there about 30 minutes before hand, and this was mid July.

Any time in any park... we just find whatever spot we want to sit at and if it is not open, we just plop in the street in front of whoever is there. They will move back! I mean who needs to wait???? :jawdrop:

Over the years, the longest we sat waiting for any parade, was probably 30 minutes. Just when the kiddos were younger did we need curbside. We have been mosty in August, but also November, December and Janury.

the reason I ask is: I have family at WDW this week. They posted on facebook that they set up camp 1.5 hrs before the MSEP. Longer than I would have waited for sure

We wait about 40 minutes before a parade or fireworks at Magic Kingdom or Epcot but for the other parks we just turn up at parade/show start and it is easy to find a place.

That's very bold of you. It's sounds like you just put trash on the ground and 2 hours later came back for it.

Bold and trash. Excuse me!! The bottles were half full by the way. It's not as if I could let my daughter go off by herself if she had to use the bathroom or something being she was 8. I think it was brilliant. If you think of a better way let us know and maybe you will put it a more polite way. Have a magical day.

We were there about two weeks ago. People were already saving their spots 1 hour and 40 minutes before the MSEP. I actually asked a CM if that's what people were doing, because I couldn't imagine waiting that long for anything, much less a parade.

We have been Curb squatters. I guess my spot on the Curb on Main Street will be no more. :arghh: So I am homeless now.

Good time to buy some stock in masking tape. CM's will spend the day taping and re-taping Main Street with the absence of curbs on Main Street.

Not trying to be rude. I have 7 year old. I know stuff happens. It's the fact you that you left stuff (and I would never leave a water bottle unattended on a sidewalk and come back for it, let alone putting stuff on the ground and leaving it so someone could trip over it) and the fact you went on rides and ate dinner and expected your spot to be there. Solution? If you want a spot two hours before a parade, man up and wait there like everyone else. I will have a great day. I'm a Sageteer.

I never thought of that. I always figured the CM carrying the rope roller harness was the worst parade prep job but I definitely think all that taping would kill my back. :hungover:

Not a man so i wont man up But I will mama up. I doubt people were tripping over it. It's the same as if someone was sitting there. And we did not drink our pop that we had left there anyway. I have no problem waiting for parades. Have done it for years but when it was just me an an 8 year old there's no way I would let her go off for a bathroom break while waiting. So just went and had a little fun. We figured if our stuff was gone when we came back oh well understandable. We did NOT expect it to be there just hoped it would be and it was so we lucked out!!!!
