T-Rex vs. Rainforest...

The main difference is the food. It's much, much, much better at T-Rex. I've eaten at T-Rex about 3 times and Rainforest about 4 or 5. I won't go to Rainforest anymore because I love T-Rex so much more. I think the ambiance is better at T-Rex, too, but it's good at both places.

I'm glad to hear that. My son chose T-Rex as his birthday lunch choice. We've never been, but were able to get an ADR, no problem. I'm looking forward to it! We have a Rain Forest Cafe locally, and while I like the atmosphere, the food was only "ok."

That's how I feel about the food at Rainforest, too. Just average food. At T-Rex I love the burgers. They are HUGE and DELICIOUS! It's what I get every time I go there. The only time I've been disappointed at T-Rex is when we paid 8 or 9 dollars for an appetizer of cheese sticks. We only got 5 or 6 cheese sticks and a little bit of this special cheese. That was totally not worth it. So skip the cheese sticks! :p

Ok...I have never eaten at the WDW RFCs, but I've eaten at a couple in the Houston area as well as the Vegas one and I found the food at RFC to be on par with what we ate at T-Rex. That being said, I think T-Rex is a much more intense experience...in the cool way for most people- in the terrifying way for DD4.

Thanks Hatter! I coudn't get reservations at T-Rex for June but got one for August. So dear sir which cocktail would you recommend?
Oh no! Thats the Million $$$$$$ question. I believe you can google the cocktail list but my DW choose the coconut liquor one and I had a tequila based one.It all depends what spirits you like.Believe me,whatever you choose,be careful, ours were very strong.;)

Nothing available at T Rex 6/9-6/13! I guess I should have checked first. :( Oh well I went ahead and booked for August. Luckily our trips are frequent because of were we live that I have that pleasure. Thanks for the advice in any case. We have never gotten out of Rainforest for less then $100 so was kinda thinking in would be similiar at T-Rex.
Try showing up. I think they don't take many reservations or something because it was all booked early too when I tried. I showed for a lunch and was sat in about 15 mins with a party of 4.

I will give it a try. Did you go at lunch or dinner?

Ok so I am scrambling to make a few dining reservations, already knowing I have missed out on the places I REALLY wanted to dine at. That being said I have Liberty Tree and Biergarten booked. My DD loves the Rainforest Cafe but have eaten there many times. What is the biggest difference besides the decor at the T-Rex cafe at Downtown Disney and the Rainforest Cafe at AK? Are they both similiar experience wise?

T-rex is cooler, in my opinion. I love the environment! Rainforest Cafe feels a little preschool to me.

Super structures are my specialty!
Last week I struck out through Disney Dining at T-Rex but called the restaraunt directly and had no problem getting a reservation. I believe I have read here that only a certain percentage of the ressies are allocated to Disney Dining. The rest remain for call ins direct to the restaraunt and walk ups.

Thanks again...I always thought that I would have to go through Disney Dining. Got lunch reservations at noon no problem.:)
