Cinderella's Royal Table Advanced Payment?

So I just tried to make a reservation for CRT for October 18th. It was already completely booked for the day except for one 5:20 reservation. I went to book it and it wanted to charge my card $133! What? I knew places required a credit card to book, but $133 in advance? I had no idea!

The website won't always recognize DDP for CRT. I recall jumping on an opening online and having to sit on the phone while 2 reservationists cxld and rebooked it for me under DDP. I think the pay in full change went into effect in 2010.

Some things required payment in advance - dinner shows and CRT fall into that category.

CRT is better with this system than it was with what was going on before they implemented it.

I don't know anything about how they do this with dining plans.

And if you want to know why you have to pay in advance for Cinderella's Royal Table take a gander at this...

This does not make sense to me. Does he use different CCs or something? How can he afford to do that?
I know that most signature restaurants and shows make you do a CC reserve online. You do not get charged on the DDP unless you're a no show. They will charge your credit card then and only then!
The article was just today! Hmmm..... interesting!

The article is actually from 2002, but the indications are that changes were made because of that group. More here... http://www.mouseplanet.com/mike/ms040507.htm

At the time that he started his group there was no credit card required. Even when they went to needing a number to make a reservation they still continued. Now, with the requirement that full payment be made in advance I bet that his service isn't as popular. But I have no proof of that.

This just fits in with my belief that policies such as this are the results of people abusing the system.

I couldn't help but laugh at the price... In 2002 it was $15.99 plus tax for adults. It's now like $53 for adults for the breakfast. Talk about a price increase!!

I was looking at that last night...kind of made me a little sick to my stomach. Don't get me wrong, I love dining in the castle and all, but they are certainly charging a premium for it these days.

They certainly are. The sad thing is, as long as people keep paying it, it's going to continue to go up. Thank goodness we have the TIW card to set it off somewhat but it's still expensive!!
