Tracking DDP Points Used

Hi all!

Soon we will use the Dining Plan for the first time. One TS, one QS, and one Snack per day.
We want to make sure we're on top of our points used. How do you keep track of them? Do you have a system? Does your receipt tell you remaining points?

Thanks!

Yes, your receipt will tell you the sum of credits you have left for your entire party.

My nieces are coming with us in June and I am thinking about giving them "snack tickets" or laminating a card we can mark on or something to keep track of their snacks so they don't waste them all on day one or whine that "Jane had more cupcakes than I did." Haven't quite decided the best way to do it. I may just keep track on my iPhone. That would be easiest, but they may want something more tangible.

The only problem is that if you rely on the kids to keep track, they will be so caught up in the moment that they won't remember to check something off.

Could you designate a set time for snack during the day? Say if you do lunch at 12 and dinner at 6, tell the girls at 3 pm every day they can each have a snack and use the DDP credit. Anything other than that they have to pay cash. Don't know if that would work, but I can see you have a difficult situation.

When I used the DDP, I was notorious for using only one snack for the week. I wasn't that hungry. Another person in my travelling party would use up all of the snacks in one day if he could. Keeping track was next to impossible - and that was with adults!

There's a Disney Dining Plan Dashboard app you can use. I think it's $.99. I haven't used it before, but I have seen it go by. You can input how many dining credits you start with, then you just have to remember to remove them as you go along. Personally, I wouldn't spend $1 on it, but I'm sure some people find it useful.

Here it is for Android, I don't use iTunes.

You can also get a printout from the concierge at any time. Much easier than trying to keep track of receipts. I would go down in the evening after coming in from the parks while my husband was getting the kids washed up. Plus, after you leave the concierge desk you can slip into the giftshop for a few minutes, ALONE. Not that I ever did...

I would mark it for them or ask for it I think. I really just came up with this idea over the weekend and haven't totally come up with the solution yet. Mostly I just want to be able to say, "It is only Tuesday and you've used 3 credits. Are you sure you want a second Goofy Glacier today?"

There's an app for that.... really! We use it. just search disney dining plan in apps. You put in your total to be used, then just deduct as you go.

When we went in Nov 2011 we told my daughter she was allowed 1 snack each day on the Dinning Plan anything else she had to pay for. She was VERY careful about what she got for her 1 snack
