YEE HAAA. I won't be sleeping for the next 163 days....Just returned from the travel agent and booked our September trip. Our plans for a Dec. trip last year fell through, then our plans for a Dec. trip this year wouldnt work out. So now its finalized.... Date of arrival Sept 11th. going to the 22nd. Going on the trip are just my wife and myself, leaving our dear son home who can't get time off of work. The trip is going to combine celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary which will be in July and my wife's birthday, which happens to be on Sept 12th. We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. My last trip to WDW was in 2011, with my son, but my wife hasn't been back to Disney since 2007, so theres a lot of Disney for her to catch up on. We are planning to drive from Maine, a first time experience for us, ( we have had several horrific accidents where baggage handlers damaged her wheelchair when loading or unloading from the planes) so it will be a long 1438 miles to travel with me being the sole driver.
So now I'm into massive planning mode. Trip money is no problem, I had accumulated savings for last years trip and continued the savings ever since the last year trip fell through. Got confirmation of a friend to watch the business and even have back up contingencies in case that gets altered.
So I'm bouncing up and down with joy. And life is good in my home in Maine.

We are staying at Pop Century with our Grandkids age 5 and 1 and our daughter so it will be a very "kid oriented" trip but my husband and I were able to go in 2010 just the two of us and it was Great. Hope you both have a super time and a safe, easy drive to Disney!
A few months ago we bought a new GPS to help guide us. Now it would be nice if the gas prices drop a bit.

Congrats! How exciting! POFQ is my favorite resort! I went this past September and had a great time! It was hot, but only had rain once on our last day and it was a quick storm. It was more crowded than we had anticipated but free dining was out so we sure weren't surprised. Happy Planning!!!!
Like that only one day of rain thing. Maybe its started a Sept trend. No free dining yet but still a chance it can come through. Free dining or not, it seems every trip is more crowded than what we anticipate.:D

Congrats on booking your trip!!!! :) Looks like we'll be there some of the days you'll be there...and oddly enough, one of the 2 bdays we'll be celebrating is also a Sept 12th bday. Hey- less than 6 mos to go!!!! ;)
My wife says she doesn't mind sharing the day. Guess Disney will hear us singing Happy Birthday all over the place in stereo!!

It was the end of September and I had heard from a few CM's that we lucked out because the week before it rained everyday!
Guess I'll be looking for my lucky rabbit's foot, four leaf clover and start praying to the weather gods. One year I kept checking the weather forecast and wouldn't you know it, every day was forecast as bad weather. We went expecting to find a washed out trip. I said to my wife... Well we will just have to make the best of what we get. Not a drop of rain the whole time...;) Luck be with us this time... please.

See, you can rarely ever rely on the weather man these days! But bad weather in WDW is way better than bad weather at home!

For sure. Anything at WDW is better than anything at home. I can still do a lot of playing in it, but my wife can't. I would really hope the weather cooperates for her sake.
Just booked a night at Cirque for us, center seats, she really enjoys that show.
