Is Aquaduck (on Dream)open while ship is in Port?

On many cruises in the past things like this weren't open while we were in Port (waterslides, etc). Anyone know if it is? We're staying on the ship while we're in Nassau so I am hoping for shorter lines while everyone is off. Might be wishful thinking since it's probably closed...

I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure it was open when we were in port. The only thing that I remember closing while in port were the stores.

Not to hijack the topic, but do you guys think it's worth it for someone to stick around on the ship during stops to take advantage of the low crowds?

Totally depends on the port of call and how interested you are in it. In Nassau, I stay on board b/c I don't really have a desire to go to Atlantis, and there's not a whole lot else at that port that has piqued my curiosity. The last time I was in Cozumel, I stayed on board and felt like I was by myself. It was AWESOME. Quiet Cove pool literally to myself. No lines for food. It was as if the Magic was my personal yacht. Great day.

But in St. Thomas, I get out and either wander the shops with my wife or we take a ferry to St. John (which I highly recommend). In Tortola, we took a ferry to Virgin Gorda (which is an absolute "must do"). And on special itineraries, like Alaska or the Med or Baltic cruises, I think it would be crazy to go all that way and not explore the cities (except in Olbia, which was freezing!).

So it just depends on how much you feel there is to do in the port city that is of interest to you.

I agree, it depends on the port. In Nassau the ship isn't completely empty because a lot of people stay onboard. But certainly it's emptier than a sea day.

If I was doing a 3 night, unless I really wanted to see something in Nassau (like Atlantis), I'd be much more likely to stay onboard just to get more time on the ship.

On longer cruises I like to get off at every port, if only for a short time. :)

I also agree on which ports you have. We've been to Nassau a million times and have 2 small children so we're limited in what we can do. That's why we're staying on the ship. To me, unless you've been there, done that, I always get off at least for a little while.

In Nassau we tend to not do excursions either. We get up early and do some trinket and jewelery shopping for an hour or two and then go back on board. The ship is less crowded. It just seems odd to be in port and not leave the ship at all.
