Kidd's back - Some observations

America, no offense but your entire TV network is horrible.

You have like 700 channels yet I still struggle to find something decent, and when I do find something good the 20 minute program is skewed up with 40 minutes of commercials. Here in Australia we have the same channels (Discovery, History, Fox, Nickelodeon) but they have more variety daily. Every time I went to one of these channels in the US the entire day was filled with a marathon of the same show!

I love you America, but sort yo TV out!

The Spanish channel is probably the least annoying of the Disney TV channels, IMO. Also the Disney weather channel with the Muzak version of Jolly Holiday and other Disney songs. But in-room TV is not the best.

I prefer Uni for hotel TV. You get USA. :)

Plus Uni has Nick which pretty much destroys Disney Channel, with the exception of Phineas and Ferb. Also, Universal's info stations provide much better and entertaining information than Disney's.

Another thing I find funny about TV in Florida is the Car Dealership ads and the Law Firm ads. They always have an extremely hot chic in them with a low cut blouse on.

Hate the resort TV. We always make fun of her. But I do like the saying " test track baby!". They need a new resort TV host.:( Gosh- I hope the new test track isn't all that bad. Although I'm sure I'll miss " 20%... 40 %...". My boys used to quote that part!

Thanks for the updates Captain. Sorry to hear about your back issues. Hope that gets straightened out before your next trip. I am looking forward to experiencing the FLE. It seems that the concept of a "down time" at WDW is a thing of the past. There are just too many international travel periods and stair stepped school holidays here in the States. Totally bummed about Test Track. While it wasn't my favorite attraction, I was hoping it would at least be equal to version one.

Test Track 2.0: I was waiting to pass judgement on this until I rode it. Well, I rode it 3 times to make sure I got a good feel for it and didn't miss anything. It sucks. They ripped the heart and soul from the ride. My 6 year old boys loved Test Track, and understood it. The weather tests, the rough road tests, the braking test, etc. Having the human voice along with you really made it both fun and enjoyable for kids. Now, they won't understand what the hell is going on. Responsiveness, Power, Reliability - I barely understood it. And the OnStar thing is just such a cheap plug for Chevy. As for designing your own car, skip it. Complete waste of time.
I could not agree MORE with you about test track. Ride it twice, will never ride it again probably. Ruined a perfectly fine ride and made a crappier version of it.

If the internet worked properly the lack of TV offerings in the room wouldn't be so bad, but using Netflix or HBO Go was not a simple process. I am still shocked they had AMC so I could see the Mad Men finale during my last trip.

Don't get me wrong - Change CAN be OK. It just seems Disney hasn't mastered that in recent years, especially at Epcot (Nemo, Gran Fiesta Tour, and now Test Track.) I have to say, TT is the biggest disappointment. I felt it was the best ride (by far) at Epcot. Not just for the thrill factor, but for the fact that I could ride it with my kids and have a blast, but have them understand it. Now, it's more apt to just scare and confuse them than anything else.

I agree with ya on the mermaid ride. It's a great queue, beautifully themed, that ends in a plasticated, sparse ride. Seriously. We waited 50 minutes for it. Um, not worth much more than a walk-on. How does an omnimover get such a long wait anyway?
By adding Fastpass.

The first day and a half Mermaid opened FP wasn't operational. Even with the crazy crowds for opening day word of mouth (we queued from outside the line!) it never stopped moving and took 20 minutes at most.

The following day, after lunch, FP was activated. Voila. 55 minute standby.

Chuuuuuuuuuch!!!

Seriously, this past September we ate there during our anniversary trip. It was absolutely fantastic! We'll be returning agin this October. Last time I requested a table by the water and it added to the experience.

I agree...we go every visit usually as walk-ins and despite the bad reviews I have seen on here I have yet to have a bad meal (or margarita) at San Angel.

Kidd thanks for the insight!! Man can I relate with back problems (well, more leg than back... sciatica) ... already started chiro visits for November!! We are staying at WLV for the first time this year, and I was just a tad concerned I would really miss the Poly. (Doing this resort change this year for DH... so, I'll hush LOL) I havent been to San Angel Inn in atleast a decade. (Bad meal back then, just never had the nerve to check it out again .... that is slowly changing!!) Thanks so much for the info :)

You're gonna love WL. I really do believe it is the best resort on property. Yeah, it's nice having the monorail, but the boat to MK is great, and the bus to MK takes about 4 minutes. Plus, you're only a $5 cab ride from the Poly to go there to eat if you want to.

Also, with all the construction that is going to be taking place at the Poly this coming year, you're better off anyway.

Finally DH is looking forward to a Disney trip, because we're changing resorts to WLV.... DS and I visited WL for the first time last trip, we both loved it. Intend to book Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast on our arrival day to immerse DH into the resort. Fingers crossed!!!!

How did you feel about the transportation to the other parks? I have always wanted to stay here, but my husband is concerned about travel time. (Yes, I know we can rent a car, but he drives 80 miles r/t for work. ;) )
