Hi Folks. Just dreaming as usual last night. What Resort would you recommend if WDW Magic were to hold a convention.? Would be great,if not awkward to organise, but I'd vote for Contempory Resort, right on the monorail route, and book Via Napoli for the evening meal.( come on,who doesn't like pizza ) So where would you have the convention and where would you book for 50 guests (just guessing ) for the party at night.;)

I'd refuse to pick. Pick a place with bigger rooms, some will whine that it is too expensive. Pick a cheapo place, others will complain that it is too crappy for them.

Pick a place in the middle, both groups will complain.

And then there are people who just won't like the selected hotel.

If a gun was placed to my head (and that is e only way I would do it, lol) I would go with the Dolphin. It is cheaper than the other Deluxe hotels, but is still nice enough. Also has a great pool.

But no matter what was picked, someone would whine, moan, cry and complain. No way out of that.

CSR it would be more affordable for the masses and the pool is awesome for the kids versus the stark pool area at CR. Just my two pennies to rub together though!

I have to agree with you Hatter. It's right in the heart of things, large enough to accomodate a big group, easy transportation and for a fun down time activity, you can hop on a searaycer and cruise around Bay Lake :)

Another vote for the Contemporary. I've never stayed there but have always thought that if either myself or my husband had to attend a convention on WDW property, we'd love it to be at that resort.

I loved the Contemporary Resort and the attached convention center. However, I think that Buzz makes a good point regarding expense when compared to the quality of room. When I was at CR for a convention, my company paid for the trip but I couldn't stay there myself.

You might need two different convention rooms, though. One for those that think Disney can do no wrong and one for those that want Disney to do a better job on ride maintenance and ride development. Then, most of us could go to each side and here different presentations. ;)
