"Labeled" on our way to WDW

Apparently two 42 yr old men cannot go to WDW without being called gay.

My buddy and I are going to WDW in Feb and are continually getting abused by an incredible amount of people. We are both heterosexual (him with gf and I married for the 2nd time)...save the "nice cover" jokes. Trust me when I tell you we are not......so moving on. We've been friends for 15 yrs. He no longer has family around so about 5 yrs ago, he got divorced and my mother refused to let him (or anyone for that matter) be alone on a holiday and invited him for Easter and the rest is history. He's basically been a brother to me for the past 10 yrs, helping me through my divorce and introduced me to my current wife.

His gf isn't interested in going and is beyond frugal. So when he mentioned wanting to go, she was less than thrilled about it. He hasn't been since early 1999 and really wanted to go. They were over our house telling us about it back in April and my wife said, "Bill would go with you....he'll go everyday if he could" (which is very true for me). My wife, 2 kids and I are going again in Sept/Oct of 2013 so this was also a way for my wife to not hear about our trip every single day for 18 months...lol So my wife is sending me as my Christmas present.

So we just paid it off today and it's official. While I can somewhat understand by "appearance", so many people are outright ridiculous about it.

Wow, that sounds great, I would not pay any attention to the ones giving you a hard time, they are probably just jealous. I just wish that when I was going to the beach with friends, we would have went to Disney!!
We went last yr on a MAW trip for my DD, & now are planning on going again in 59 days, can't wait.
Go & enjoy!!!

Who cares what anyone says :) just go and have a blast!

I don't even understand the "appearance" of it....2 guys at a bar aren't labeled gay...2 guys at a football game aren't labeled gay. Why would anyone make assumptions on your sexuality based on going to WDW with your buddy?

And even if you WERE gay...who cares? Still, go and have a blast! (As long as the women are consenting...haha)

Who cares what closed minded people think, or what they have to say, and I bet you a Lapu Lapu, if they all got the chance to go, they would.... so there!! LOL Nothing wrong with friends or brothers going on a vacation together. Tell them, until they pay for your vacation, your mortgage and all other bills, to shut their *doors*! GO, have a wonderful time, make memories, relive old ones.

Don't sweat what others say or think. Have fun! My hubby (of 19 years) and my older brother (of 38 years..LOL!) totally goofed around with pics when we were there together in Sept 2011. We have a ton of pics similar to this...

I'm just jealous you get to go twice in one year! Plus just having to cater to one other person is much easier than a few family members all wanting to do different things. Have a great time and just ignore anyone who has the low class to make a comment.

This is my first time doing multiple trips in a year and I'm beyond frieking excited over it. And you are right about catering to one person although he insists on not going on IASW and I think u have to when you go to WDW.

My FIL did too!! Just insist on needing a break from the heat or something...haha

I hope you're planning a trip report! I love reading about the ones without kids! I soooo want to go with my girlfriend one of these days and have no kidlets to worry about! The experience is totally different!

I have a friend that is basically a brother to me. I would go anywhere he wanted to go and vice-versa and our wives wouldn't care. Thus, go and have fun. If anyone wants to try and turn your friendship around on you, tell them to go soak their heads. It's interesting in a society where we are told to "not judge" that such judgements occur all the time. Reverse discrimination is still disrimination.

I was in my mid 20s and went with my best friend. My girlfriend was doing her CP and my friend and I were alone most of the time. Totally worth it.

Sounds like a legit guys trip to me. I would totally go with my best bud (who actually is the one responsible for getting me hooked on WDW) if we both had the time and money because I know we would have a blast. I have been 4 times, all with my wife and kids, but I think a guy trip could be fun too.

On a non-Disney related side note, me and four buddies all took a "man-cation" (not our name for it, my buddy's wife kept calling it that o_O) last summer and spent a couple of days in Cleveland touring the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, visiting the Christmas Story House, and hitting up the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH and we all LOVED every minute of it. As much as I love getting away with my family every chance I get, there is something kinda cool about just getting away with some close pals for a few days of drinking, eating and random guy stuff!! :D

P.S. We're all in our early, mid 40's and wouldn't have given a crap what anybody thought of us anyway! As long as we were having fun!

Hell, if I could go party with my best friend and one of the most fun places, I would be there in a heart beat. Unfortunately, we can only get together with our families about once a year.

By all means go and ignore all of the idiots in the world.
