BWV or BCV? :)

I thought the 18% tip was only for sit down, table service restaurants. If it is counter service too then you are actually paying more by using it since you wouldn't be tipping.
You can't use the TIW card at Seahsore Sweets. I previously mentioned getting 10% off over there with my Annual Pass and those with a Premium Annual Pass get 20% off. So even though you get 20% off at Beaches & Cream with a TIW card it's still not good as a deal for their Sundaes when you factor in the automatic 18% tip.

I gotcha. So Beaches & Cream is a table service restaurant and that is why they charge the gratuity.

It's silly to quibble over a buck or two when one is paying to stay at a deluxe resort.

Admittedly, I don't eat ice cream, but it's all Edy's brand, so I don't understand how there can be much variance between Seashore Sweets and Beaches and Cream.

Not sure of those 2 places serve Edy's or not. We went to both last time, and Beaches and Cream was an experience. The ice cream (and toppings) were delicious. Seashore Sweets was OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there.

And I agree 100%. Who cares how much a lousy sundae is when you're dropping $350+ per night for your room?

I have sim ...
I agree with BWI FAN 4 EVER that Stormalong Bay is next to the main walkway to Epcot. Stormalong Bay is surrounded by a fence and has lifeguards posted at every entrance to assure that only Y&BC guests enter. However, for a parent with young children, it could be disconcerting for the children to leave the pool area to cross the main walkway to get to the water slide. I assume WDW is very much aware of this and does at least some monitoring but I've never noticed someone stationed there whose job it was to "guard" children crossing.

... a choice.

I know that when I was a single parent with small kids, I was more comfortable waiting at the bottom of the slide in in BWV pool while my kids went up the stairs where I could see the entrance than I was waiting at the bottom of the slide at BCV while my kids left the pool area, crossed a public walkway, and climbed the stairs to the slide, all while blocked from my view. During busy time there can be a 10 minute wait for the slide. 10 minutes is a long time to sit there and wonder if you kids actualy made it to the slide entrace.

It is easy if you have one kid, or both want to go on the slide. You can go with them. But when one does not want to slide and the other wants to, it can be a royal pain. Now they are older so the point is moot.

I saw on dvcnews that TIW price is increasing to $125 and $100 but I didn't read it anywhere else. Can anyone confirm or deny?

BWV is my Home Resort but the answer is easy; go with BCV. With BCV you get access to their mini waterpark, Stormalong Bay. Your 3 small children will really like this. You can then hop to BWV's pool if you want to. However, you cannot hop to Stormalong Bay if you stay at BWV.
Yea my parents own at Boardwalk and we own at Beach Club...love the resort and the pool! Go for Beach Club

Drum roll please.....we have decided on Beach Club. I actually let my oldest son choose. He looked at pics online and chose that one. It is so close to BW anyway so it is kind of a win win.

Thank you all for your replies!!!!:)

We're thinking about staying around Christmas. For 4 people, (wife and me, 14 year old son with smelly feet, and 7 year old princess), can we fit into a Studio at Boardwak and/or Beach Club? Help! The world as we know it depends on this momentous decision.

HAHA. We ended up waitlisting BC and AKV Savanna and kept BLT MK view for the 8 nights. Then when AKV became available, my kids were very excited to see the animals. BC became available the same day and AKV was the choice. So we are split between BLT MK view and AKV Savanna View. We are so excited!! BC will be next years adventure.

No matter what studio you are going to have the same situation. Id do the one bedroom if you can...

Yeah, that's what I feared. The points are pretty rich between Christmas and New Year's, so I'm trying to save some money/points. It also doesn't look like there's any room for an air mattress on the floor either. Oh well, time to blow the points I guess.

By the way, my home resort is Bay Lake, but we want to stay at Beach Club or Boardwalk from December 21st through the 30th or so. The 7 month window is at the end of May. Can anyone check on availability of Baordwalk and/or Beach Club for those days? Thanks again for assisting me in the knowledgeable execution of this momentous decision.

If it was me I'd rather blow more points and know I will be comfortable than try to do the air mattress thing. (Don't know where you would put it)... I mean I also wouldn't want to be out all day in fun chaos with the crowds at that time and have a crowd in the room as well. Lol go luck either way, I hope it works out for you guys!

Oooh, that is a very busy time of the year. I looked a while back to see if BLT was available for Christmas week since it is our home resort, too, and it was all booked up!! You may want to try and see if you can book BLT and switch to something at the 7 month mark or waitlist it.
