Yes Ash has always done this pose on most rides since she was 8 years old. Its kindof her sig. pose. lol

That's a shame. I find it strange there was a problem with it all of a sudden. It must have been that one CM. I do this on every ride, too. I purchased photos from almost every ride and the three of us did this pose every time and we never had a problem at all.

I would talk to Disney as well - seems like one CM may have not followed the same protocol every other CM does.

Well to be honest the lady just had that look that she didnt want to be bothered with. It's really sad to me if they don't then let some one who does. It's Disney I understand you have those days and I have them

The sad thing is she never did it again after this. Which made me very sad cause She always looked like she was enjoying herself. =(

Wow, I'm very sad to hear this. I hope your daughter feels better. I've never experienced this. Then again, I've only been on Disneyland's Splash Mountain. Her pose on DL's Splash would have been just fine. Guests are allowed to do all kinds of things on Splash.

Here are a couple of silly ones:

Clear examples of how you should be able to express yourself on Splash. If Disneyland allows this, so should MK. Tell your daughter she can do whatever kind of pose she wants! I would have complained.
these are epically awesome :)

A few years back WDW had a big controversy concerning that hand gesture used in the preshow at RnRc. One of the Aerosmith band members (I don't remember which one) was shown using that gesture. Someone took a moral stance and decided that it was a "hidden" obscenity that was misinterpreted as one the closely resembles that one. It all just eventually disappeared and I notice that it is still in the show. I would be willing to bet that the lady, probably completely out of touch with anything to do with Rock & Roll, thought that was what she was seeing. Either way...it is the wrong way to go about it.

they aren't supposed to allow gang signs... so they are touchy about hand things.. but the rock horns aren't gang and the CM shouldn't have had an issue with it. Ill-informed.

That is sucha sack of crap. She was just a nasty Cast Member... unfortunately some of those do exist. I would be sending one heck of an email to Disney. I'm with you. If the worst my kids are doing is making silly faces then more power to them. Good grief, truth be told, some of the clothing worn around the park is inappropriate in and of itself but I bet those gals get to see their pictures!!!

That is also the Italian "evil eye" when you want to curse someone, like the person that complained. Give your DD and hug and tell her that from time to time she will meet a jerk.

Well I did try to get my daughter to do it with me the next time we went on. She wouldn't do it. She said she didn't want to do anything that would be considered in appropriate. When we did go on again which was five mint. later that lady wasn't working the photo. I'm not sure where she was cause I was going to get her name.

It's funny- the first time I ever saw that hand gesture was back in my home town...predominantly Italian...and the gesture was the evil eye. What makes it funny...I remember back in college when University of Texas came to play us at home...my circle of friends had never seen the "hook 'em horns" gesture and we were all thinking they were giving us the evil eye. :D Totally cracks me up to this day!

All in all- it's a harmless gesture and that's one horribly cranky CM.

I would DEFINITELY COMPLAIN! I was once that kid who would have really taken something like this to heart and it's just horrible when nasty people put a damper on something fun and happy like this. Sad that they fail to see the impact of their actions and ignorance. That CM needs to be educated.

I'd also let your daughter know how many of us have sided with you guys and that we all think what she did was fine- Great - FUN! And to do it again next trip too!!! :)

I know what you mean. We saw men walking around with underwear hanging out,Bras were showing, i even saw a lady who was going to breast feed, but she just took her breast out five mint early.I have seen girls wearing mickey pins were the nipple should be. I really could go on. I also saw people smoking pot(you could smell it) right there in front of everyone by everest fpd. I saw several CM walk by and look and you could clearly smell it and keep walking (that was 2 years ago and the only time for that one).

LOL! I never knew it could mean anything other in Rock and roll type thing. I know I'm out of touch too. Thank you all for the kind words. I have told her to not let one grumpy person be the reason she don't get to have fun and enjoy things. She should always enjoy herself as long as she is doing it in a fashion that is not inappropriate. Ash really is a great kid and she has always been this way.

It could be that the CM thought that your daughter was doing something else. (for exactly what, research Steven Tyler Rockin Roller Coaster Hand Gesture) However, the fact that she is a child with her mother should be a good indicator that she was not doing this gesture.

Unfortunately they skim these photos very quickly to determine if something is inappropriate or not. What most likely happen was the CM working that day was going through the photos and thought your daughter had flipped off the camera or was doing "the shocker". They have no clue that this individual is your daughter they just seem them as a guest. All she said was someone was doing an inappropriate gesture and the photo had to be pulled. Unless she specifically told you your daughter was the one and was in trouble why would you be so angry? They gave you the photo. Typically when there is something seriously bad with the photo they won't sell it to you and will give the non-offending families a fasspass to reride the ride.

It was funny though cause the CM totally did the hand and tongue gesture to show me what was considered to be inappropriate. I was like wow ok.
