Ah, nostalgia.
I have always hated the Carpets. Never thought they belonged there. Not opposed to the ride, per se, just the location.
I see why they put the ride in. I don't like it, but it's just a way to lighten the load of other attractions.
Now, if they'd only do that in Tomorrowland.
They did..its called the Carosel of Progress....lol

But unlike the Aladdin monstrosity, the Starjets fit the theme. 'Big mechanical thing' clashes with 'natural South Seas settings', but 'soarin Spaceships' add to 'Space Age Tomorrowland on the move'. Not to mention, TL was an vast empty space that needed to be build up, AL was a complete land which became hopelessly clogged.
The Peoplemover is even younger than the Star Jets. It opened together with Space, Mission to Mars and the CoP in the 'Tomorrowland Annus Mirabilis' of 1975.I always thought Star Jets were there from the beginning. Wasn't the TTA?
Hey, leave the CoP alone!
I'm talking about Stitch's Night Club. Get rid of that monstrosity and put an interesting attraction there.
