What would you say to someone in your party that is complaining while your at WDW?

Depends on what they're complaining about. If it's legitimate, then I'd try and be helpful, but if it's just a pity party or complaining for the sake of complaining, then I'd kindly suggest that the resort hotel is only a bus ride away. Some people will be miserable no matter where they are and they seem happiest when everyone around them knows just how miserable they are.

If they were a well-rested child, I'd tell them to stop. If they were not well-rested, I'd take them for a nap.

Adult? Pretty much ignore it. I did once snap at my sister, lol. She knows I don't enjoy listening to people complain about heat and cold...yet I heard that it was hot, she was hot and "Oh, my God, it's too hot" over and over again. After hearing this hundreds of times for several days (and trying to talk her out of a summer trip before we took it, lol) and saying Yes, it is, I know, and I'm sorry...or just ignoring it...I kind of lost it.

"Yes, it is hot. I know it's hot. Everyone knows its hot. I'm hot, too! See all these people?! They're all hot, too! So you can stop telling everyone how hot it is! We know!"

We continued walking a few paces and she said, in humbly sarcastic tone..."I didn't tell 'all these people.' Just you." I had to laugh.

I apologized later and apologized about 1000x after that. She LOVES to tell people that story, because I so rarely snap at anyone. People look surprised and they always look at me for verification because they can't believe it. I have to say, "It's true..." and I have to apologize AGAIN.

I've spent much more time apologizing than I did snapping. It will never be enough, lol.

Moral of the story: Keep your cool. Don't snap. You'll end up regretting it.

...and don't go to Disney with my sister in the summertime. :)

"See that exit? Feel free to use it..." At least for adults anyways. (Tired kids are a whole nother ballpark). But I'm not one to mince words when it comes to someone ruining my enjoyment of something I love, Disney being one of them. Fortunately, my family never had issues like that. We didn't always agree on what we wanted to do but had no qualms about splitting up or yes, telling them they seemed like they maybe needed some R&R back at the room.

Yeah this last part is usually proceeded with this phrase and the accompanying action implied:
"Hold on let me reach in my pocket I've got something for you...oh here it is...."
LMAO!!!! We sure can get imaginative with our hands and fingers here on right coast LOL Personally, if I sat on my hands, I wouldn't be able to speak a word LOL

It depends, if they are really dragging me down, I look them straight in the eye and tell them "I'm a Delta platinum member." To which they give me a confused look - like, what does that have to do with everything I'm whining about? And then I say, "that means I could get you on a flight out of here in less than 2 hours. Keep it up, and I will do exactly that." That usually shuts them up.

If they are just being irritating, then I try to break the mood with a passive-agressive comment like "With that attitidue, I hope a bird poops on you today." That usually makes them laugh and then they're over it.

We need time for things to happen.
That's my husband's FAVORITE line.

Oh and by the way...with the amount of time you spend on these boards it may be time to upgrade your status to "Full-time WDW Geek". :p

LOL...You're a thousand percent right about my time spent on theseh boards (my wife can attest to that)
but I'm thinking my "part-time" status is more about what I "know" about WDW and not how much time I spend reading and talking about it.
My knowledge compared to some of the full time geeks may not even qualify me as part time..
Hmmm..Should I change it to: "Intern WDW Geek" ??

Thankfully, in all of my trips, no one has ever been a complainer about anything.

The one time we came close was a few years back I was with a friend and the last few days of our trip we were in a Tropical Storm condition. Which meant rain, rain, and more rain. The last night we were there I wanted to go to Pleasure Island (it was in its final weeks), but he looked at me and said, "All of my clothes are wet. My shoes are wet. I even think my brain is waterlogged. I think I would rather just sit in a dry room." I couldn't argue with him - he had been a real trooper and went to all the parks even through the monsoon conditions.... I didn't want to go to PI alone, so I went and sat in the hot tub...figured I was getting wet anyway, might as well be warm!
