Whats your opinion on the alcohol being added??
Personally, I see nothing wrong with this. I have read on fb how some are upset, I don't understand that. If it offends some, don't drink ... for heavens sake, its not like guests haven't left Epcot a little *hazed* and went to MK. Just like any other park... drink in moderation and as any classy person would do, mind your manners in public.

Spot on, in 5 visits to DLP i have never encountered any problems with alcohol and i dont see why there should be any problems at MK either

I think it's great! In doing this, they're acknowledging that beer and wine can enhance the dining experience regardless of park. We also have never encountered any alcohol problems at WDW. You have to figure lots of people have at least a drink or two if they pop out of MK for a dinner somewhere on the monorail loop and then head back in for Wishes...so surely some beer and wine during dinner at BoG should be more than just fine. :)

I'm getting effin' hammered people!!! Watcchhhouttt!!!

Seriously - no big.
I do get the traditionalist getting a little twisted about this, but what can you do really.
Nuttin' to get too worked up about.
Exactly ... if this is all I had to worry about during the course of the day, I'd be a happy camper and as most know, New Jerseyans aren't known for a happy peppy attitude LOLOL

OK, am I the only one that thinks the food doesn't look too good? I mean, I know I am a picky eater and all but that stuff looks disgusting! I think I will skip the food and head on over to Aloha Isle to get a Dole Whip!!!

By the way, I have 18 more days till my trip! I can't wait to see our little one with Mickey!:D

All the dishes look awesome. Now, we'll see if they actually look like that when they come out to the table on an average night, or if this is just the Disney Parks Blog indulging in a little healthy food pr0n.

As for the beer and wine menus, I'm actually slightly impressed by the beer selections. It seems like they carefully considered brews that would pair well with the dishes being offered while still trying to keep the choices authentic to the region they're trying to evoke. Good on them. They could have just gone the easy route and tossed out the standard Disney bar menu choices, or some variation thereof, so this is a pleasant surprise. I appreciate the effort to keep this a unique dining option.

Those tiny cupcakes look yummy!!

As far as the whole alcohol thing, I know MK has traditionally been alcohol free and I always just assumed it was because that one particular park is geared more towards kids than the others, and people don't want their kids mingling with folks who may have had too much to drink. But...having said that, even when my kids were young, I felt it was my job as a parent to watch my kids. If I see someone who had too much to drink in any situation, it's my job as a parent to remove my child from the situation, not keep an entire park from enjoying a glass of wine or a beer with dinner.

None of the other parks are dry, and I certainly don't see it stopping parents from bringing their kids there, so I think it's a bunch of ruffled feathers over nothing really.

If drinkers act responsibly and parents watch their kids responsibly, it's really no big deal as far as I am concerned. I drink wine with dinner on a regular basis...it hasn't mentally scarred my kids yet.

i'm really happy about this. i'm sure some are blabbering on about the moral decay of american values based on the fact that i can have a glass of wine at a restaurant, but this is a nice little nod to the big demographic of adult theme park goers. it will be nice to order a beer or a glass of wine and enjoy it, because agree with alcohol in the magic kingdom or not, i think it's fair to say that the no alcohol rule has absolutely stunted the evolution of a fine dining option in MK.

I don't really care about the alcohol either way, I think 40 years ago it might have been a big deal but today not so much. What I don't get though is why now, why BOG?

And I absolutely disagree about MK needing a fine dining option. Within a 10 minute monorail ride (or walk, to Contemporary) you have several options for a nicer meal than anything they would ever put in MK, why waste space? I just don't see WDW-MK ever having a 'jacket required' type restaurant like Club 33 at DL because there isn't a need for it.

well, let's start with this: the notion of "fine dining" is completely fluid at WDW. outside of victoria and albert, there is no enforced dress code at any of the signature dining establishments.

but as far as there being a need for a higher end dining option at MK, we couldn't be in more of a disagreement. yes, i've eaten at narcoossees, citricos, california grill, etc., but it makes business sense to have food at a higher price point inside the gates. and also for this reason: if any guest goes to MK and wants to get something to eat, they're limited to chicken fingers and the like. why? seems like at least some of those people who want something a little more refined. BOG gives them an option, while still appealing to the large demo of families by making it themed around an animated classic.

In another thread we are discussing people who just don't "get" WDW and I think to myself. Some people, with younger children, spend a lot of their time at this end of the property. They just can't make a good time out of the other parks, despite options for young children in them, they just don't get it. Perhaps bringing up some quality food like that in World Showcase or some of the resorts to this park will serve these people well. If you stay at a monorail resort, MK is a great way to end your day.

It's not really about what I eat. I saw several things that I do eat on their menu. What I was referring to was how they looked in the picture. I don't know, maybe it is just me but it really doesn't look too appealing.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Food looks reasonable - but check the size of that steak :). I keep thinking it should be between two slices of bread :).

Not only is tiny- this is the only food pic that has 0 appeal to me. It looks like something you'd see in a Golden Corral commercial...just totally out of place.
