Annual pass room discounts

Prediction - there won't be any. Blame the FLE expansion opening.
I hope that isn't true. If I can't get AP discounts for my Dec trip, I'll probably just stay at the Dolphin instead. I have been checking mousesavers everyday hoping AP discount are out.

Well, the historical data has them being released as early as late July, or as late as now. If they are going to release any, it could happen any day. Or it may not happen for another month (when the current discount booking window expires). Or they may choose not to release them if they already have enough demand. They already offered free dining for the first 2 weeks of December, they may feel that is enough this year.

called Disney and they said they would be out early Sept. I called AAA and they said they were already booking rooms with that discount threw Dec.!

AAA discounts are good year round, unless blocked out or your room choice is at the limit. So you could book in January through CRO to use the AAA discount in December. The downside is that it is typically a 10-15% discount, vs the 30-40% the AP discount often is.

No
we are booked from nov 21-26, and dec 21-29 with AAA. We have APs as well. We only got 2 discounted days with AAA for the Nov trip, and NONE for Dec. Our agent said from what he was told, Disney would not be offering any either. He is also surprised that none of our Dec dates get at least a 10% AAA discount as this has never been the case before. So i kind of gave up on the idea of a discount. If something pops up, that would be great!!

Discounts for early winter are usually here by now. If they don't come out soon I am going to start to worry that there won't be any this year. We are going the week after Thanksgiving and usually use the AP discounts offered around then. I hope they are not holding back for the FLE reason. That would totally stink, but sounds like the logic that Disney currently employs for most things nowadays. Discounts are getting harder and harder to come by these days with Disney.

I was wondering the same thing because I am going to book a late October trip for my birthday and food and wine festival but I was waiting for those discounted rates for annual pass holders.

i'm also of the opinion there won't be any due to fle openings. we're ap holders too and i've been watching too but haven't seen any offers for that time period. i stayed at por in mid july and was able to book using a bounce back for our october trip which could have been used for some parts of december but when we did a last minute trip last weekend (stayed same resort both trips) there wasn't even a bounce back offer in the room. i'm guessing they know between the regular christmas travelers and everyone booking because of all the new fantasyland stuff they didn't need to have discounts.

I'm going in Sept and I am hoping to get a bounceback for Dec. We'll see.

what about a january/early february trip? it's off season. of course the christmas decorations will be gone but if your main reason for going is the fle then why not avoid the crowds?...just a thought.

Personally, I am going for the Xmas stuff. I'm not really interested in FLE since the little mermaid ride has been open here for quite some time.

If memory serves me correct, fall discounts came out two days after Labor Day last year. I was waiting for them to book my November trip and that's when I booked it.

We were waiting to book our November trip until we got a discount or pin code, and nothing ever came. I got nervous & finally went to book, only to find that all the 1 bedroom villa's were booked except for one at the Wilderness Lodge. We booked it, and are now excited about staying there even though that wasn't the original plan. I usually get pin codes as well, but haven't seen one for anything past September yet.

We're arriving on the 10th - but the CM who took my reservation told me that because of Jersey week & the long weekend of Veteran's Day, that rooms are pretty well booked up until the 12th. Then we have an early Thanksgiving this year on the 22nd. Assuming crowds start arriving the Saturday before (the 17th), that really doesn't leave much room in November for a down time. That mixed with FLE might be a reason we haven't seen much in the way of discounts.

You never know though - they could definitely still appear any day! Fingers crossed!

That's pretty much our experience. We're renting DVC points, but the only 2-bedroom available was SSR. Even then, nothing was available for check-in until Sunday the 11th. So we had to book our first 2 nights in a room at AKL, and are hoping to get a discount for those nights.

That's a good solution. We thought about resort hopping too, and checking into a 1 bedroom BW villa on Monday. Then when the Wildnerness 1 bedroom opened up we just decided to take the whole week there. After all that, I just called and moved to a standard room in order to get free dining (was sold out on villa's). I was holding out for a discounted room rather than free dining, but I'm afraid it won't happen at this point. I've never done free dining or DDP, so this will be a whole new experience for me.
