They are going to have a different Lumiere AA in the BOG Restaurant as well, from all accounts. I wonder if it will be a different in style/setup or largely the same.

As a Haunted Mansion fan, if they can create this projection-faced Lumiere I'm hoping that in the near future we get a Hatbox Ghost because it seems like the projection technology could be used to finally accomplish the Hatbox ghost effect properly.

I personally hate the projection faces. How does Remy do with facial expressions? Talking probably still presents issues at that scale, but the projection fallback just...does nothing positive for me at all. I hate Buzz, Mr. Potato Head, and the life-size HM bride. The mini HM bride at the end actually looks pretty good using the projection, so I guess that may bode well for Lumiere.

I wasn't aware physical heads were actually what you viewed in crystal balls? ;)

Seriously, though, Leota is pretty decent, but largely because I've always associated crystal balls with images, so a projected image fits without "sticking out." While I guess you could say a projection is the only practical way to do a "true" ghost, the execution is the biggest issue. It is just so bright and, well, obvious (speaking about the bride). The Toy Story animatronics using them only for the face...they don't blend in very well with the rest of the body, and I've seen the projection go slightly out of alignment with the face and the facial contours and then its even worse.

It definitely looks like the projected technology that the Cars characters have been using..

And from the concept art the other Lumier looks to be similar to Remy..

Still on hold.
